Cutie Mark: A red orb with yellow trail behind it, aiming to 10 o'clock direction.

It represents his old desire to always brighten everypony's day, and his talents in pyromancy
Personality: Can be aloof and detached most of the times. He rarely if ever speaks more than what is necessary and will often ignore any unnecessary conversations and small talks. Even if the pony who try to talk with him has known him for years, more often that not he wouldn't make any attempt to socialize.

For Ember Sky, the end will always justify the means. A lesser evil is inevitable to attain a greater good for the betterment of the whole. If there is a necessary evil needs to be done and nopony else is willing, he will be the first to volunteer.

Friendship is but a tool to further one's mission and should never be put above one's mission, that is what Ember believes. While he would not say anything against making friends with somepony, he wouldn't hesitate to dismiss his friends should his superior ordered him to.
Backstory: Ember Sky was born in Fillydelphia in a wealthy unicorn family. He had an older brother and a younger sister, both were also unicorns. He spent most of his childhood learning about spellbinding and sorcery in a private school that was funded by a Canterlot researcher. When he got his cutie mark during a firework celebration he quickly drafted to be trained under the researcher's project.

When he reached adulthood, he was soon drafted into the Royal Guard's newly formed Fire Brigade. With 24 other ponies with similar talents, they were meant to provide a long-ranged magical attack support for the frontlines. For years they stayed inactive until a band of Griffon militia stirred on Equestria's eastern border. Ember Sky and others were quickly dispatched to show the world that, according to the researcher's word, Equestria was nigh invincible even without Celestia.

The magical barrage was done from miles away from the militia's encampment, and only lasted for mere minutes, but no griffon survived under the sheer destructive force of the Fire Brigade. The Griffon kingdom was quick to demand a truce and requested the Fire Brigade disbanded and purged, which Celestia willfully agreed to, for the entire project was carried without her approval.

Ember Sky was sent back to his civilian life in shame, and was prohibited from revealing his former position and the higher extent of his talent to anypony. All records about him on the military and education were either eliminated or changed to suit his new assignment in a permanent inactive duty under the guise of a civilian.

Since then he lived a lonely life on the outskirts of the Ponyville.
