Personality: Featherweight is a griffon who has an interesting personality. She believes that being unique is very important, so she has developed her own special "wild style" (as she calls it), and often wears all sorts of wacky accessories and dyes fur strange colors. She is a bit of a motherly type, and is very kind to others, although she can have a bit of a temper on occasion. <br /><br />She loves to help everyone she can, although she can be a bit weary of them at times... especially if they are ponies, as (being a griffon and all) she doesn't exactly seem to "fit in" with ponies that easily. She can be very blunt and has a feisty personality. All she wants in life is a bit of respect and to have fun making friends, and reads many books to perfect her brewing and potion-making skills. <br /><br />She holds her special items close to her heart, and will make sure they stay hidden as needed. She also enjoys writing short stories with hidden morals in her free time, and often feels very lonely... living in the Everfree Forest and all. She can be very generous at times, and willing to help others, although she can be a bit boastful and greedy as well... especially if it will allow her to get something that she wants. <br /><br />Although she has her faults, she has a kind heart and is always willing to help others whenever she can.

Backstory: Featherweight was born into a large family of five (she being the oldest), and lived just past the Crystal Empire until she was about two years old. Her parents then decided to move to the Everfree Forest where the weather wasn't quite so harsh and wasn't so isolated, and Feather began to grow older as time passed. Being the youngest in her family, her one brother and sister eventually grew old enough to leave the nest, while Featherweight was left behind.<br /><br />She had hatched a whole two weeks earlier than normal, and her parents were afraid that she wouldn't even live to be a week old when she was a baby! Although she sure proved them wrong and gave them quite the trouble with her feisty personality as she grew up. She finally turned sixteen soon enough, and her parents allowed her to leave their home if she wanted... and she of course jumped at the chance. Her mother gave her one of her feathers that she had made into a necklace before she left the nest, telling Featherweight to "never forget about her and to visit" and to "keep that as a keepsake... always". Her father gave her the same thing but in the form of earrings, which she is always wearing to this day.<br /><br />One day she was walking through the forest when she stumbled upon an interesting home of a Zebra that claimed to be named Zecora. Featherweight was then taken in and taught about all kinds of different brews and potions by the zebra, who said that she had always wanted to mentor a griffon, which were very rare in Equestria. After a year Featherweight was finally done with her training and left Zecora, promising that she would visit her when she could. She settled down in a home that resided in a dug out hill and is there to this day, still casting her spells and creating her magical potions (as well as writing when she has the time) and helping anypony that comes her way.
