Flo
By valete
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Species: Earth Pony
Appearance: With a peach colored mane and a light yellow coat, Flo likes to go around wearing her blue-striped scarf with her mane loosely styled.
Cutie Mark: She doesn't have a cutie mark!

She doesn't want to rush in getting a cutie mark because she believes that getting one sort of limits what she can do.

She actually likes doing a lot of stuff! She likes lounging around, helping out in random places, gardening, thinking about how things work, talking to sunflowers, listening to people, and trying out new scarves (although she sort of can't part with her favorite blue scarf!).
Personality: Flo is overall a friendly pony. She likes chatting with others and hearing about their stories, but she may be a bit gullible sometimes (especially if the topic being discussed interests her greatly). She also likes staring into the night sky. Oftentimes, she may be seen looking into the distance deep in thought. Flo can work out things by herself, but for some reason, sometimes, she opts to choose the less convenient course of action if ever it seems like something good or interesting may come out of doing so. She may show a few changes in her personality sometimes, and these changes are usually determined by her mood. Sometimes, she can be outgoing and verbose, while other times, she can be calm and outspoken. Flo also likes visiting fancy places every now and then, but she doesn't really want to be all that 'fancy' herself. The only accessory she wears regularly is a blue-striped scarf that's been a favorite of hers for a couple of years now. She wears it a lot! (Even during the summer!) According to Flo, this scarf makes her feel less empty.
Backstory: Flo is an Earth pony who was raised by Earth pony parents. Her mother is a gardener and a florist, and her father is a landscape architect.

Ever since she was young, Flo often thought about the future and what it could possibly hold for her. There just seemed to be so many different possibilities and destinies that were out there! She wasn't exactly sure of what she was cut out to do, and this bothered her for some time.

However, during one afternoon while observing a seemingly healthy sunflower that, out of all places, was placed on a cupcake after a certain bubbly pink pony said that there had been an order for floral themed pastries, an idea came to her: what if one would just go around and do various things without being confined to a small spectrum of activities? That way, an individual could become so many things at the same time! A gardener, a scarf tester, an astronomer, you name it! Just like how that sunflower seemed to be magically okay in a cupcake where it isn't regularly supposed to be, maybe she can do things that don't always necessarily have to revolve around one single concept too!

Not that she was worried that cutie marks would hinder her a lot or anything, but upon reaching those thoughts, she decided that she would be fine without one, for now.

Although it is not of great urgency, she has yet to find out what her true talent really is.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Shifted Backstory:

On a routine visit to the city park, Flo strolled through the stone path that lead to a hilltop. Although it wasn't really considered a peak, this area was one of the highest points of the city, and it was also a point of reference that divided the city from the countryside.

While looking down on her watch, Flo reached the hilltop.

"Hmm. I wonder if I'll have enough time to get home early. The stars aren't out yet...what gives?"

Flo sighed and sat down on the bench overlooking the countryside. There were a couple of stars that were visible from here, but it was not as much as it normally were. Behind her, moving light beams and various building decorations could be seen shining vibrantly from within the city.

"Maybe it's just today...with great city celebration comes great light pollution, right?"

Flo gazed into the night sky, appreciating the stars that were bright enough to shine through the visible atmosphere. After a moment of silence, however, she saw something bright shoot across the sky. Flo gasped. "Is that a comet?" she asked herself. In just a few seconds, the bright object exploded into a familiar flurry of colorful fragments. "'Tis nothing but encapsulated magnesium!" Flo said out loud in a pseudo scientist voice. Intrigued, she smiled and turned around to rest her arms on top of the opposite bench that was just adjacent to the one she was sitting on. The other fireworks were lighting up the sky with numerous other blasts and cheers that were audible in the distance.

Flo got up and began to go down the hill. While looking down on her watch, she smiled and remembered the festive dinner she had with her friends and relatives just a few hours ago. "I wonder if they're setting off their own fireworks." she thought to herself.

Just then, something caught her attention. Thanks to her peripheral vision, Flo spotted a seemingly large rock that was a bit too bright for its own good.

"I don't think I've ever seen fireworks brighter than that!" Flo exclaimed.

She approached the rock with great caution and excitement. The rock resembled a meteorite because of its size, and never before had Flo encountered something like this before. The rock was slightly embedded on the ground, and it bore a crack in its immediate center. Flo gazed into the glowing rupture, utterly bewildered at the fact that she wasn't being blinded by the bright light being emitted from this unknown source. She moved closer to the crack to examine it, when suddenly, a gust of wind flung the loose end of her scarf onto the surface of the rock. Flo panicked immediately because of the possible combustibility of the 'stuff' in the rock.

Surprisingly though, her scarf landed an inch away from the crack.

With a big sigh of relief, Flo wiped away a drop of sweat from her forehead.

"Whew! Man, that was close! My scarf could have burned to death because of you!" she said as she pointed a finger at the seemingly innocent rock.

In a split second, Flo found the tip of her finger poking the crack. Immediately, her jubilant expression turned into a perturbed one.

"Oops."
