Appearance: Florafilla is a young mare of a slightly shorter than average height (by a couple inches) for a mare of her age. Her neck is also a few centimeters taller than average and she often used to get made fun of for that. Her overall physique is the same as that of the majority of mares. <br /><br />Her coat is a rich dark shade of pine green, the color of her mane is a unique hue of sea green, and her eyes are brilliantly emerald. Her eyes also appear to sometimes glow luminously in complete darkness - she doesn't understand why but her eye doctor believes it could be due to an abnormality within the iris. <br /><br />Her mane is long and wavy; she generally likes to keep it at shoulder length and she combs it once every other day or so. Her tail appears very curly and voluminous compared to the rest of her mane.

Cutie Mark: Her principal cutie mark are three white leaves all connected to a single stem within circular patch of lighter green (which noticeably contrasts with the rest of her body). It represents her unity with nature and her gift to communicate fluently with plants of all kind.

Personality: Florafilla is a generally upbeat mare who often carries a beautiful contagious smile, especially when she is busy tending her garden. She used to be incredibly shy and has had some anxiety issues in the past, but over the years she has improved immensely in her socializing and regularly tries a make conversation with at least one random pony every time she visits Ponyville whenever she has the chance. <br /><br />Although she has always preferred to be alone with her plants, she has met and made a few good friendships for which she is still quite thankful to this day.<br /><br />In very rare occasions when she gets very flustered or angry, any plant within in her view will respond empathetically and rapidly grow and move animatedly. If she is angry enough at a specific physical source, her plants will attack and immobilize that source whether it be a pony or an object of some kind. It is for that reason, she tries hard to keep her emotions happy and tame.

Backstory: Born in a small home along the outskirts of Ponyville, the mare was only raised by her mother growing up as a filly. Her father who was a geologist, died when she was just 10 years old. Her father was on a trip to the northern most region in the world. Sadly, as he was sailing through the Antlertic Ocean to do some research on this newly discovered electromagnetic field of energy, a great storm bombarded his ship out of nowhere and took him and his crew down under the ruthless waves. Despite Florafilla's tragic loss, she still always smiled upon hearing all these stories about her father's great expeditions. <br /><br />Her mother was a gardener and introduced her daughter to her hobbies at an early age and upon having seen a flower and smelling it for the first time, Florafilla instantly fell in love with this beautiful art. She admired every aspect of flowers and she always thought they were the most beautiful things in existence. Oh how she even used to wish that they were able to think and communicate like her. Her love of flowers eventually extended to loving all sorts of vegetation. She would spend almost all day outside of the house just laying down on the grass, even attempting to make "grass angels." <br /><br />When she first enrolled in the Ponyville Schoolhouse that was nearby to where she and her mother lived, she was incredibly nervous and shy to meet any of the new foals. Unfortunately, just as she feared, her time spent at the school didn't go well. She was outcasted and ignored when she tried to make friends as some of them found her unique fascination of plants to be a little too weird and to others it seemed completely stupid. She was teased constantly and even made fun of for being 90% green, getting called by insulting names, with the most infamous and notable one being "plant freak." It was practically unbearable for her. The only thing that kept her happy was the beautiful school garden, which had over hundreds of different colorful flowers. <br /><br />She received her cutie mark after an unforgettably rough incident. It took place when she was just a young filly, during recess at the Ponyville Schoolhouse. She was looking over the school's garden and as she was admiring the beautiful assortment of flowers, one of the older Pegasus colts (notably considered a bully by many) came up to her and asked what her problem was. She didn't understand. He told her that it was stupid that all she did was watch the dumb flowers every single recess and even proceeded to yank a flower by the root from the garden. <br /><br />She gasped and despite her pleas for him to put it back where it belonged, he refused and to her utter shock, he broke the stem of the flower in two. Enraged, she bucked him in the face with her back hooves and proceeded to try and attack him. The colt's friends who were with him in that moment immediately grabbed her by her front hooves and pinned her to the ground. As the colt regained his composure, he was infuriated and told him that she was pathetic for always preferring to be around flowers and not real ponies. He then decided to emotionally torture the mare as he picked up the flower by its broken stem and attempted to bite its head off right before Florafilla's eyes. She was screaming at him to stop with tears streaming down her face.<br /><br />However, before the colt had the chance to sink his teeth onto the flower's neck, he was suddenly pulled back by what appeared to be the grass latching onto his legs from behind. He tried to break free by flying away but surprisingly, the grassy vines proved to be stronger and managed to pull the Pegasus down to where his body would be forcibly laid down flat. As Florafilla noticed the grass slowly trying to drag the colt underground, she called out saying "Stop! I-I think he's had enough." <br /><br />The grass quickly understood the mare's command and stopped. Little did Florafilla noticed, there was a big crowd of foals all gathered around the scene that had taken place, all of them had an expression of immense surprise. Even Cheerilee, who was her teacher at that time was surprised as she had never seen an Earth pony perform anything like that. As Florafilla explained: <br /><br />"The pl-plants stood up for me and defended me ... and then I told them to stop and they did."<br /><br />It was in that moment her cutie mark appeared. A light green circle with three white leaves connected by a single stem. Representing her newfound gift of communicating with all plants and being understood by them. <br /><br />This happened two weeks after being enrolled in the school.<br /><br />Afterwards her mother decided to put her through homeschooling as it would be safer and much easier for her. She was much more content and even began to grow her very own little garden. Throughout the following years in her early life, her gift received some recognition, and she has been asked to help several farmers and even once had the opportunity to meet Fluttershy at one point to help supply food. <br /><br />She currently resides around the safer and more beautiful areas of the Everfree Forest in a large 5 story cottage she made naturally from a redwood tree. Alongside her cottage, she has also been able to grow one of the largest and most abundant gardens in Equestria which aside from herself, no other soul has seen ... yet.
