Dust and Memories
    • Age: 37

      Gender: Male

      Species: Pegasus

Appearance: Coat: A dark grey, similar to refined steel.
Eyes: Forest green, similar to the color of sunlight through leaves.
Height: If he was a human, he'd be 6' 2".
Mane and Tail Color: Brown, similar to fresh earth. The tail is shot through with a darker shade of brown.
Other Features: A well-groomed and maintained mustache; a pair of thin glasses.
Cutie Mark: A scroll tied around a sword with a blood-red ribbon, symbolizing the War of Independance, the value of leadership, and the costs of war.

Personality: Cold, hard, and calculating. Disturbingly sharp, sometimes. He seems unassuming at first, but once you catch the glint in his eyes and the sword scar running down the side of his face, you realize just how formidable this man is. Fences excellently, and has some small amount of talent with ranged weaponry, although his main areas of expertise lie in commanding men.
Brilliant, with a degree in pure mathematics. However, Friedrich is no bookworm, and although he never uses his university education any more, he finds several ways to apply his mind to the business at hand...usually with bad results for anyone on the wrong side of him.

Backstory: Friedrich was elected the governor of the colony of Prussia when he was thirty. When the monarchy imposed three unfair and restrictive laws on his people, he appealed to their parliament for a change.

Nothing happened.

Every day, the taxes and conscription grew higher within his subjects, but Friedrich would not play along with the monarchy, who many citizens were beginning to think of as enemies. Then came the final straw. The empire engaged in a war with another empire, in a massive stalemate that needed men to fuel the grinder. These men were taken from Prussia. No matter the military spirit of his people, it was unacceptable that their husbands, sons, and brothers were being sent to fight in a honorless war, and thus, Friedrich listened. In a clandestine operation, weaponry and training was given to the masses, growing at exponential rates as each pony taught their neighbor. Soon, under the government's very nose, Prussia had a well-trained, nationalistic, patriotic fighting force. And you can bet they wanted their freedom. In the Great War of Imdependance, when Friedrich was 36, the colony of Prussia went to war with the empire. Their monarchy, demoralized by their ongoing war and unable to fight a three-front war, fell back. With the promise of Independance and a official recognization from the countries that prevailed over the former monarchy, the backwater of Prussia was now the Republic of Prussia. And so it was.
