• Gale

    glacialchill
    • Age: 21

      Gender: Female

      Species: Non-Pony

Appearance: Gale is no taller than any other pony or changeling, but is unhealthily thin. her eyes are green and slitted, similar to Chrysalis'. Her mane is long, blue, and ragged. Gale is also wingless, and has no carapace on her back.

Personality: Gale is self-contained and logical, but gets along well with others. quiet since birth, the prefers to listen more and talk less, keeping to herself. Since moving to a town where she was accepted as a changeling, she has gotten more bold. Now she is at ease with company, even if she would rather be in a quiet room than a loud crowd.

Even after adapting to a (mostly) quiet town life, she is still a product of her past. After living on the run, she has developed a general mistrust for ponies, and gets easily suspicious of their actions.

Gale also has a resentment for pony royalty, considering it was the royal guards that had been driving her out of the towns she was discovered in.

Likes: symmetry, cold or wet weather, shiny things, learning new things

dislikes: loud sounds, crowded areas (especially indoors,) wearing armor, conflict

Backstory: Gale hatched from an egg in a hive in the far north, where the majority of the year is cold and snowy. Her hive was separate from the hive that attacked Canterlot, and had made peace with a nearby pony village, garnering the affection needed to sustain their hive and giving the ponies changeling slime to strengthen their packed-snow homes so they can be built larger and won't collapse in the warmer months.

from the moment she hatched, Gale was different, but not necessarily in a good way. Born without wings or a carapace, unable to transform, and disconnected from the shared telepathy know by ponies as the 'hivemind,' her parents were unable to care for her. So the unnamed hatchling was given to the pony village.

There, the hatchling learned to speak and to read, and was treated with enough care for her to get by. She was never given a name, but was accepted into the town anyways.

Perhaps the hatchling would have never left her cold home, if it wasn't for the traveler.

The traveler was a tall and strong stallion, handsome by pony standards. But it wasn't his looks that attracted the hatchling. After some surprise at finding an undisguised changeling, the traveler treated her with the utmost kindness. A kindness that the hatchling had never been subject to. A feeling of value. She never knew what that value she had been given, until the guards arrived.

The leader of the group arrived in town, asking about a changeling that was hiding among them. The hatchling never had either the ability or the necessity to hide, so the ponies could truthfully answer that they knew of no such creature. Th guards had an informant, though. A stallion who had recently been cast out of the guard for misconduct. the changeling had caught wind of the armed guards searching for her at much the same time her position was revealed. As she searched for a place to hide, the guards found her and gave chase. The hatchling eventually managed to escape them by burying herself beneath a pile of snow, and emerged to find the traveler looking for her.

She ran and leapt into his hooves as she had done so many times before, and he held her in his strong embrace as she told him of the shining gold ponies who had come to hunt her. He listened quietly with a smile, telling her to not be frightened. The entire ordeal was nearly over, and she wouldn't have to worry when help arrived.

The hatchling was confused at this. The golden ponies didn't seem ready to give up so easily. The traveler was holding her awfully tight as well, as if he were trying to keep her from getting away...

The dots connected quickly in the hatchling's mind. the traveler had told her of his life, about how the others in his old home had not liked him and sent him away until he had found a way to regain their confidence. The traveler had told her about how changelings were not welcome in him own home, and how instead they were feared. The traveler had never held her in any value, other than as a way to be accepted back into his home.

The hatchling was no longer with a trusted friend. She was with one of the golden ponies, one of the ones who wanted to take her away. Being frightened and helpless, she used the only tools that she was born with.

Her fangs.

She learned then of her taste for blood and flesh, the mark of a carnivore.

She would have eaten well that night, if it weren't for the hooves rushing toward her after the traveler's call for help.

Her muzzle and fangs red, and the traveler's taste still on her tongue, the nameless hatchling left the town with the shining ponies behind, and wandered aimlessly through the surrounding forest.she hungered for meat, but refused to indulge herself. She hungered for love, but couldn't even manage to find any affection in herself. She collapsed in a snowbank, and had all but given up on life. But then, a curious thing happened.

A lone mare found her, and paying no heed to her slitted eyes or the dry blood on her fangs, she scooped up the hatchling and held her comfortingly, in much the same way that the changeling's parents held her when she had just hatched.

This mare's name was Gale. The hatchling followed Gale as she wandered randomly across the land, always claiming that she knew where she was going, even if she didn't know why. During hr time with Gale, the hatchling grew older and thinner, as she never ate anything except for the love she absorbed from Gale. The hatchling studied transmutation from books, and found a way to use it to disguise herself. She was prepared to live on her own.

As a parting gift, Gale took the hatchling and said:
"I think you are ready to take care of yourself, and live with ponies now. But if you are going to live with ponies, you are going to need a pony's name. So, I'll give you mine."

From that moment, Gale never answered to her name. She called the hatchling by the name Gale. And before long, the now nameless mare left Gale to create her own journey.

After travelling to many towns, sharing her secret with those the felt she could trust, and getting driven out after sharing her secret with those she couldn't, Gale has arrived at wherever your RP is taking place.

(or, in the minecraft RP on crafting is magic,) Gale found an old friend living alone in a cabin a forest surrounded a forest or one side, and the ocean on the other. At first, Gale was at ease living with just her friend. As time wore on, more and more ponies began to flock to their spot in the woods, until the town of Serenity grew around their small home. Her friend was recognized as the mayor of this town, and she as his councillor. Gale stayed disguised as the town was beginning to develop, but eventually abandoned her disguise with the thought of:
'who will challenge my being here? I've lived in the first house built, and even named the town myself.'
Gale still lives with the friend (soon to be husband,) that she met before, along with two foals who somehow wormed their way into their lives: a changeling and a unicorn.
