• Gunslinger

    Thunderchild

    • Age: 43

      Gender: Male

      Species: Earth Pony

Cutie Mark: Gunslinger's cutie mark is 2 six shooters crossed.

Personality: Gunslinger is a loner by nature. His gift has separated him from others, and has made him suspicious of strangers. Somewhere in his ancestry there must have been a Unicorn, because he has foreknowledge of events and actions ponies are going to take. He is conscious of his reputation and, not wanting to scare anypony, tends to avoid contact. He hopes someday this will change, and that he can have relationships again-but for now he waits.

Backstory: Gunslinger's unusual abilities were noticed early in his family. His reaction time is approximately 4 times faster than the fastest of his opponents. Coupled with his psychic ability to tell what someone's going to do before they do it, there is no known defense against him-should he attack you.

Despite this, Gunslinger's upbringing was fairly typical. He had a sister named Felicity, who he adored and protected-much to her chagrin. She always thought him overprotective.

Gunslinger found work as a bodyguard for visiting dignitaries, and as a bouncer in the saloon in town. Because of his reputation, no-one gave him any trouble.

Felicity started dating the son of the town sheriff-a spoiled, willful pony who GS disliked immediately. Used to being able to do whatever he wanted, the sheriff's son struck Felicity in Gunslinger's presence. Before he had time to think, Gunslinger had lashed out and struck the pony in the head, killing him instantly.

Knowing that the Sheriff would not rest until Gunslinger was behind bars, his family made him leave the town and head toward the far off country of Equestria. The journey was hard. He made his way by helping farmers with chores in exchange for food and lodging, many times he saved fellow travelers from the bandits that plague the badlands beyond the Everfree forest. Always he kept moving-never staying in one place too long in case the Sheriff got wind of his location.

One day, as he was resting by a stream he sensed someone approaching. Pressing himself against the rocks, he peered around the corner-to see his sister running down the road toward him.

Felicity explained that she'd been looking for him for months-following his trail, to tell him that the Sheriff had died, and that Gunslinger could now return to his home without fear of reprisals. Gunslinger considered this, then shook his head. His ability made him afraid to return in case he harmed someone else-he would remain where he was and would avoid other ponies.

Near to where he'd met Felicity, Gunslinger found a cave. It was dry and safe, and he made a home there for himself. The cave is located on the far side of the Everfree Forest. Gunslinger still helps travelers whenever he can, and hears from them the tales of the wonderful land of Equestria, of Ponyville, and of the kind folks who live there. He hopes one day that he can leave his past behind him and return to civilization-maybe even work as a palace guard for Princess Celestia herself.
Until then-he waits.
