Backstory: Inky always had fun as a colt. He was born to his father Cumulus, a light-hearted worker at the weather factory, and his mother Iceflower, a native to the Frozen Nurth. His parents kept him entertained, and played with often. As he grew older and stronger, his father expected him to go into weather production, as was family tradition. But Inky was of a generation that broke tradition. So, he instead decided to look somewhere else for his cutie mark.

As he started steadily progressing into his teens, he still didn't have his cutie mark. He would sometimes lay tirelessly in bed, pondering how he would spend the rest of his life. He pondered, and pondered, and pondered... until he came open a quill and a scroll. Thinking he could be a scribe, or a writer, he picked them up and started drawing. Drawing buildings. Once he had it finished, he flew up, took a considerable amount of cloud, and constructed his creation. As he finished, he looked at his flank, and there it was. His cutie mark.

Inky was shocked at the disappearance of the princesses, but even more at the fact that day and night came and went. He had jokingly said to some of his friends that it's the sneezing of ponies that actually moves the sun, but it soon became nothing to joke about. But it was the division of Equestria that made him crack. Being caught in a warzone, having his hometown, house, and work destroyed by the faction his father was loyal to, his mother running off to the Everfree Forest, and finally, his good friend Yellow Blast being captured and killed by House Earthborn. He would sit for hours on end, sobbing, his personality slowly splitting. One half of his mind, which came to call itself Brick, was filled with rage, hate and murder, planning and scheming for revenge, the other half, called Inky, preoccupied with a fantasy world it had created to cope with the stress. However, as he was out in Manehattan, doing his daily rounds,(shopping, ranting, eating, plotting, etc) he was approached in an alley by a green pony. She said she had come with good news. The pony, known as Twoleaf, informed him of the Cult of Laughter, and told him about the happiness it promised. Brick thought of it as a logical course of action to join, whereas Inky just wanted to have a good laugh for once. The two personalities mentally agreed, and Twoleaf then took them to a Cult base. What has happened to Inky and Brick since, nopony knows.
