Appearance: <p> A tall, slender young Alicorn with a black and red stripped mane, black wings, and a red horn and coat. He has several white scars on his body from wounds of ages past. His horn glows a pitch black when using magic.  </p>

Cutie Mark: <p> His cutie mark is a Spartan helmet to signify his military prowess and combat experience. </p>

Personality: <p> Despite his appearance, Invictus is very light-hearted, preferring to avoid violence if possible. He only resorts to violence when absolutely necessary, and only uses lethal spells as a last resort. He loves to make new friends and is willing to do anything to protect those he cares about. He is unwilling to hurt a friend unless absolutely necessary, and as such, is susceptible to illusions. He is very gullible when it comes to matters involving his loved ones, but otherwise, he is very hard to fool. He is extremely smart for his age. </p>

Backstory: <p> Invictus is Celestia's military advisor and was chief general of the Royal Army during the Insurgent War seven years ago. He had participated in several wars and was honorably discharged as a war hero. He was accepted into military academy at the age of 14 and graduated at 17. He then proceeded to enlist, pretending he was 18, and quickly climbed through the ranks. Over the course of his military tours, he had accomplished several seeming impossible tasks. </p> <p> His magical affinity is heavily based in manipulation-type magic rather than normal combat magic. He is able to conjure some magical attacks, like lightning, but is unable to cast most advanced spells. His magical shields are capable of stopping most physical and magical attacks, but cannot neutralize attacks that occur from within the shield. (long range manipulation, for example.) Magic weapons also negate the shields. He is able to cast basic spells that are stronger than most other unicorns can cast them, however, it comes at the cost of costing a lot more magic energy to use. Thus, he sticks to the things he can cast without overextending his magic reserves. His magic is all tinted navy blue. </p> <p> His battle prowess is almost unmatched. With his sword alone, he can hold of several attackers for about 30 minutes without harming anyone by the use of a special fighting style known as Sharinkai. However, he has a special combat skill known as the Genku Sharinkai, which is an extreme overhaul of the Sharinkai combat style. When Invictus invokes this special power, His speed and power become godlike, extremely enhancing his magical and physical abilities. However, this uses an IMMENSE amount of magical energy, and he cannot keep it up for more than 30 seconds before he becomes unable to safely use it. In some worst-case scenarios, he can extend the duration of it, but he requires at least a full day to recover. However, when he overextends the Genku Sharinkai, its effectiveness begins to go down. </p> <p> Over the years following the Insurgent War, he was sent to neighboring countries to slay monsters, including some hydrae. However, he has begun to wonder what it means to be a soldier now. He has been acting as a hired monster hunter for neighboring countries </p> <p>  He has come to Ponyville after being discharged in order to find a new life and try to put his war-waging days behind him. However, he has also come with a mission: to speak with the leaders of any military forces in Ponyville and to supervise their actions. He is currently in bad condition from the depression of being discharged, and forced himself to walk all the way to Ponyville, leaving him in terrible physical condition. </p>
