Appearance: <p style="margin-left:40px;"> A large, powerfully-built pegasus with a green coat and a long, shaggy dark green mane. His wings are proportionately larger than other pegasi. </p>

Cutie Mark: <p> A dark green phoenix, symbolising his restless nature and his desire to recreate himself as a new pony. </p>

Personality: <p> Jadefire usually appears to be quite a gruff and cold character, but in reality this is a facade he created a long time ago in order to keep himself from losing willpower. While he pretends not to particularly care about what happens to anypony, he is in reality deeply compassionate and empathetic. He is hard-working and determined when undertaking a task, and is generally restless when not doing anything. Notably, he is very wary of magic and sees powerful unicorns and alicorns with suspicion and a degree of fear. </p>

Backstory: <p> For much of his early life Jadefire was a rather unremarkable pony with few interests or particular talents. He grew up in Cloudsdale with his mother and father, and as a colt took a long time to learn to fly properly due to his overdeveloped wings. However, when he learnt to fly he discovered he had a talent for it - although he steered himself away from competitive flying due to disliking the amount of work he thought it would take to become a professional. </p> <p> He earned his Cutie Mark - a dark green phoenix - when he first stepped hoof on the ground below, although at the time he had little idea what it meant. However, on his second trip down he and his family passed by a performing magician, who accidentally miscast and ended up using a spell that took away his voice, leaving him a mute for several months before a spell was discovered that would return him to normal. The ordeal left Jadefire introverted and withdrawn, and the trauma caused him to develop a deep fear of the ground world and of magic in general. </p> <p> As time passed and Jadefire's fears refused to disappear, his father eventually decided that drastic action had to be taken in order to prevent his phobias from controlling his life, and banished his son from Cloudsdale, telling him that he was not to return until he returned to normal. With no other option, Jadefire flew around aimlessly until eventually coming across Ponyville. Unable to settle down, however, he soon moved on, and ended up spending his early adult years as a wandering pariah with no destination, besides hopefully returning home one day once he conquered his fear of magic. </p>
