Cutie Mark: Janeri's cutie mark is a is a black swirl with a line through the middle. It is a symbol of his Zebra lineage.

Personality: Janeri is very wise and knowledgeable, and approaches every situation with optimism, although he knows when to be cautious. He tends to be amiable towards everyone, but this veils a tough interior that can come out in an instant when necessary. Janeri has a distaste for luxury and expensive things, preferring to use only what he needs. He has a particular soft spot for children, and loves the innocence and wonder they possess. Janeri is always exploring new ways to think about everything and particularly enjoys classical music. He has a vast knowledge of shamanic Zebra practices, and infuses knowledge he gained in Equestria into traditional Zebra magic. Janeri has a strict moral code, and while he won't shy away from violence, he will fight with honor.

Backstory: Janeri spent the first part of his youth living in the Zebra homeland studying shamanic arts. When he was a teenager, his family immigrated to Equestria, where they settled in one of the poorer districts of Manehattan. Growing up on the streets of Manehattan taught Janeri to be tough, as he faced prejudice for being a Zebra. After working numerous low class jobs, Janeri gained some respect and recognition in magic circles by adding a Zebra twist to Equestrian magic, which became his ticket out of the poor Manehattan neighborhoods he'd lived in for a good portion of his life. Now residing in Canterlot, Janeri owns his own potion shop, which has plenty of business due to its unique nature.
