Appearance: King Sombra is a dark gray unicorn with a black spiky mane and tail. Unlike regular unicorn horns, which match the pony's coat color and are straight and segmented, King Sombra's horn is curved, smooth, sharp at the tip and it gradients from dark gray to red. He has sharp teeth with two visible fangs unlike other ponies and red irises, but most often his otherwise white eyes appear green and have a purple mist emanating from them, which disappears both times he is attacked. He wears silver armor on his legs and neck, a crown with horn-like points on his head, and a red cape that covers his flank. When his flank is shown briefly he has no visible cutie mark. When he's turned to shadow in the flashback, only his head remains, and when he returns as an amorphous black cloud, only his eyes are visible at first.

Cutie Mark: King sombra is a master of crystals and power. His cutie mark is purple smoke surrounding crystals.

Personality: He is cold, calculating, sadistic, fierce and cruel. He is extremely intelligent and will take every precaution that would be needed in order to stop anyone in his way.

Backstory: Sombra grew up in the crystal empire. Being the only colt with a black coat and mane, he stood out amongst the rest of the crystal ponies. He grew up with a decently high ego, knowing that he was sought after just by about every mare there was in the empire, except for the princess of course, but something like that really did not matter to him. Instead of attempting to gain the favor of the people, he spent his time studying magic, it was about all he did. Even when one was to bother him, he would simply flick his hair to make their legs wobble, but continue to read his book, ignoring them. <br /><br />But one day, while he was studying, he stumbled upon a book that had secrets to it, locked away for a reason. It was a book on alicorn magic, the origins of it. Sombra had always thought that alicorns were supposed to be the ultimate sign of good, but as he read the book, he could see that everything he was taught was a lie. All he could do was laugh with each passing day in which they did not know the ungodly truth. He continued to learn the spells from the book, until he discovered even more, revealing a darker history to the world. As he learned his mind grew darker and darker until his eyes went from a bright blue to a blood red, and the pupils of his eyes transformed. And the purple smoke came from them. <br /><br />He hid himself away as he began experiments. Slowly, ponies began to go missing but returning not to long later, with either missing wings, a missing horn, or completely dead or out of strength. One of the things he has learned to make was the soon to be feared but sought after "Alicorn Amulet". <br /><br />He drained the magic, ripped the wings off of pegesai, and tore the strength out of the earth ponies, slowly turning the entire empire into earth ponies. None of them had their strength, but a lot of them didn't really have memory of what happened to them.<br /><br />He used his horn to kill as many ponies as possible until his horn grew dis-formed and bloody. The blood integrated with his horn, to complete his transformation. With the alicorn amulet, he took over the empire with ease and without really much of a challenge. All he could so was smirk as he watched the fear over his new empire take hold. He had become hateful and spiteful at this world of lies in front of him.<br /><br />After a couple of years in control. And with the amulet on him, he finally took it off to give it some rest. He figured he had enough power, and the fact the crystal heart was hidden, he had nothing to worry about. But that didn't mean that he didn't set up traps in case of his defeat. <br /><br />He was defeated by the princesses luna and celestia, but not before he brought the crystal empire with him. Leaving it disconnected with everything around it, leaving it under his control still. <br /><br />Now the question is, does he still have control over it, or doesn't he?
