Personality: Klaus is very energetic And He can never really stop moving. Despite this he is very passive and tends to be lazy sometimes. He doesn't like to work at all but will if he has too. Klaus is very intuitive and highly intelligent. He can easily read ponies like a book and sometimes uses that to his advantage. He can hurt you with words where it counts. But he can handle himself well in fights too. His magical prowess is not to be taken lightly either. He hates being yelled at and will get angry if you yell at him. Klaus also gets easily bored and is always looking for something fun to do. His search for "fun" leads him through adventures throughout the world. He tends to be quite blunt sometimes and gets into trouble sometimes because of it.

Backstory: Klaus Detreich Ferdanand is a pony belonging to a race called the "Lunar Ponies". The Lunar ponies are the ancient descendants of Princess Luna. In equestria they became more and more numerous until they numbered the same as the equestrians. But the Lunar ponies were shunned and discriminated. The Lunar race resented the equestrians for their actions. However their love for princess Luna kept them in check for hundreds of years. But after Luna's banishment the Lunar ponies were about to rebel. In response Princess Luna banished all the lunar ponies to a strange land halfway across the world to keep peace in equestria. The lunar ponies were exiled and were left bitter, vowing to take revenge. A thousand years later, The lunar ponies United and created the Lunar Republic. The First Nation ever to bring democracy to the world. The Lunar Republic grew powerful, and created a powerful empire Across the land they were exiled to. They became a superpower that rivaled equestria. Having amassed a powerful army, navy and air force the Lunar nation declared war on equestria. A long bloody war of attrition followed which would be called the destiny war because of what was at stake. It was the Lunar republic vs the Old alliance, an alliance between the Griffon nation, equestria, the Crystal empire, and the The Zebra homeland. The war became a stalemate and the war turned into a war of attrition. The Old alliance counter attacked and were soon at the Republics capital. The war seemed lost. However, a brilliant general named Alfred Von Ferdanand was put in charge of the military and turned the tables on the alliance. He took back the homeland and assaulted the crystal empire. The Crystal empire eventually fell. Equestria at its limit, sureendered to The Lunar republic. With no more resources to fight with and the terrible loss of life they suffered, they had no choice. The Equestrian kingdom was humiliated and was forced to give up huge amounts of land. Canterlot was lost under the surrender terms also. Reparation fines were also charged. With such a stunning loss, the other nations surrendered as well. However they were not give harsh tems of surrender. With the equestrian nation defeated, Celestial was to give up her throne and be replaced by Luna. Celestia stepped down as ruler of equestria, during the war the Elements of harmony were seized by the Lunar ponies, so that they wouldn't be used against them. However they were useless because rainbow dash and Applejack were enlisted to the army. Rainbow dash died in the air war. She died an ace who killed 234 airponies. Applejack was spared death but lost partial use of her hon leg during the war. She became bitter and resentful. Rarity was spared from the draft and became successful creating uniforms for the Equestrian armed forces. But after that she was enlisted by the Lunar Army to design their new uniforms too. However she was shunned by other equestrians for "collaborating with the enemy. Pinky pie fell into a depression after losing her family and their farm during the war. Rainbow dashes death drove her over the edge and lost any happiness or former self. Flutter shy was also in a depression but not as much as pinky was. But despite the pain she felt she was still kind and gentle, especially to animals. Twilight was stripped af Her title as a princess and soon became homeless and jobless. She became a lost soul .a wanderer , traveling through the world trying to find herself again and trying to start a new. Klaus was only a young filly when these events took place. Klaus father died in the war and her mother went insane with grief. Klaus had a miserable childhood and was beaten and had hardly anything to eat. When the lunar authorities caught wind of this, they arrested Klaus mother and put in a mental institution. Klaus was put in the custody of his nearest relative, Pinky pie. Pinky was klaus fathers cousin. She took custody of Klaus when he was 7. Klaus at first wanted to go back home so he purposely tried to get taken away from pinkie pie so that he could go home. However he grew attached to pinky pie and soon grew to care for her as a guardian. Pinky loved klaus and soon rebounded from her depression. Klaus went to school in pony ills and soon became the top of his class (although he only did to win a bet with pinky pie). He was a blank flank however and soon was noticed by the CMC. He became friends with scootaloo and sweeti bell. He began to to make a lot friends at school. However one pony still didn't acknowledge him. Applebloom hated lunar ponies just like AJ did. She distrusted Klaus. Klaus didn't care though because he felt the same mutual distrust with AB although he didn't admit it.As Klaus became older he was sent to Canterlot for unicorn school. Infortunately his magic surfaced much later than when his piers so his magic ablities weren't on par with his piers. Klaus was bullied for this and soon tried to run away. But one of his teachers, an old stallion who called himself Stargazer convinced Klaus not too. Having sympathy with Klaus, he decided to train klaus as his apprentice.At first Klaus was skeptical of Stargazers abilities. But after he showed him some of his ablilties, Klaus agreed to be Stargazers apprentice. Klaus quickly learned the lessons he was given and after just 1 year, Klaus became the top of his class. Klaus was still a blank flank. But with Stargazers help, klaus realized his affinity for magic. He gained his cutie mark as a cresent Moon symbol. Klaus wondered why his cutie mark. Was like that, but Stargazer told him it was because in many cultures the Crecent moon symbolized magic. At the age of 9 Klaus graduated Unicorn school and left Canterlot for home. There he lived happily. He was happy with his life. He had a nice job as a manager of a munitions factory in ponyville. Although equestrians were bitter towards Lunar ponies, Klaus was liked and well respected around ponyville. He had fun with his friends Rumble scootaloo, Sweetie belle, and Featherweight. But when Klaus was 14 he was drafted into the Millitary. He became a Lietenant in The lunar Army. Klaus became famous for being a talented tactician and fighter and rose through the ranks to become a a colonel. After his service was up he left the military and became and adventurer. He wanted to have fun so he decided to travel across the world and meet other ponies. He bid his farewells to ponyville. Klaus now at age sixteen ventured into the world to start his adventures throughout the world. He was very accomplished and is fairly known throughout equestria. And this is where his story begins......
