His eyes are yellow and his cutie mark is a lightning bolt with white streaks. </p>

Cutie Mark: <p> Lightning's Cutie Mark is a Lightning Bolt with white streaks. It symbolizes his love for speed as well of his love for extreme weather such as thunderstorms. As a weather pony, he specializes in extreme weathers, controlling them and how to calm them once it is over. He earned it when he was caught out in a storm one day and discovered that he had a natural talent for turbulent weather. </p>

Personality: <p> Lightning can generally be described as a nice and kind stallion. On the surface, he can appear to be very extroverted, always willing to do small talk with new ponies when they approach him. However, despite this outward personality, inwardly, he is a very reserved individual and he does not open up easily until they earn his trust, keeping to a very small, tight knit group of friends. However, once a pony has earned his trust and friendship, Lightning is extremely loyal, always willing to be there for his friends. His dedication to his friends and even to other ponies is so strong, he is willing to even leap into danger for them if it means protecting them from harm. This dedication to others sometimes backfires on Lightning as he sometimes will jeopardize himself and his own well-being and forget to take care of himself. On top of that, when a pony has earned Lightning's trust and later breaks that trust, Lightning is not one that lets it go easily. Lightning can be extremely stubborn and that stubbornness is most present when he holds a grudge. However, losing Lightning's trust is generally very difficult due to the fact he is extremely patient and understanding, almost to the point of being naive at times. </p>

Backstory: <p> Lightning was born in a rather average family in Cloudsdale. Throughout his life, he had developed a love for being high in the air and flying.  During most of his foal days, he would watch any pony that was flying and study them. Many times, he would try to fly himself, often not succeeding. Once he went to flight school, that is when his love for flying really began to soar. </p> <p> He became intrigued with the ideas of weather and how the pegasi manipulate it. But what he really became interested in was storms. The way they were so ominous and unstable but was important to all ponies fascinated Lightning. Before long, however, he grew restless hearing about it and he wanted to make a storm form and dissipate for himself. The young pony would soon get his chance as one day, him and his friends would be playing around with some clouds. Not paying attention to what they were doing and what they were creating, they would accidently make a thunderstorm. </p> <p> Panicked, his friends tried to fix their mistake but instead made things worse. Lightning quickly thought back to what he learned in Flight School and did the first things his instincts told him. As the storm started to arc lightning bolts, the blue young pony made his move. He would flap his wings and fly high above the clouds, rain starting to come down. Hovering over the clouds for a brief moment, he would dive bomb into the wall of clouds, discovering something he never really knew about himself. A love for speed. He would pierce one hole through the clouds. Then another. And another. Before long, he would have pierced enough holes in the clouds to cause the storm to dissipate on it's own. This is how Lightning acquired his cutie mark. </p>
