Personality: Determined, and very slow to anger. He tends to be serious at times but jokes with his close friends.

Backstory: At first Lightning Storm was a pegasus, born in Cloudsdale and was a weather pony for most of his teenage years. But at the age of 18 he had heard about a mare in Canterlot that was viewed to be one of the best minds in military combat. He flew to Canterlot and arranged a meeting with this mare, named Minath Kidemonas. She was completely uninterested in taking on a protege, and dismissed him from her office. Not giving up easily, Lightning Storm went to the forge and branded Minath's cutiemark on his second wing joint, and showed it to her. Minath was impressed with Lightning's dedication and took him under her wing to train him in the military art. After four years of training and learning with Minath, she deemed him ready to "graduate". After he had gotten his own regime in the Cloudsadale Guard, Minath approached him and asked him if he wanted magic as well as wings. Even though Lightning had no idea how Minath was going to accomplish this, he agreed. Minath made Lighting a alicorn and he has been captain of the Canterlot Guard from then on. The branding on Minath's cutiemark is still on his wing.
