Appearance: Sandy-colored coat with a russet mane. Her mane style is messy, similar to a lion's. She has dark green eyes. Her wings have more feathers and are also messy since she doesn't know how to preen herself properly.

Cutie Mark: One big pawprint.<br /><br />Describes her love for wild cats such as lions, tigers, etc. She has a special ability to communicate with them, and can also calm them down and take care of them better than anypony else.<br /><br />On the day she got her cutie mark, a wild rampaging lion had invaded the village, injuring several ponies and destroying property. Among the chaos, Lyona ran up to the lion and calmed it down, then quickly took it out of the village. When she came back, she was accused of bringing it there in the first place and was driven out. Only after leaving the village she noticed that her cutie mark had appeared.

Personality: Loyal, kind, fierce, wry, sarcastic at times, hesitant, prideful, adventurous, unsure, assertive when needed, defensive of friends and loved ones, modest, open minded, timid, persistent, optimistic, cooperative, empathetic, a little bossy at times, vengeful to ponies that hurt the ones she loves.

Backstory: Lyona was born in a village which was near the Badlands. This village was mostly populated with Earth ponies; pegasi and unicorns were very few. Earth ponies called the other races weak, often shunning them or making fun of them.<br /><br />Lyona was born to two Earth pony parents, who loved her and attempted to protect her as much as they could. They weren't like the rest of the village since they were immigrants from Manehatten, two ponies that wanted to get away from city life. Lyona was their only foal.<br /><br />As soon as she was old enough to work, Lyona was made to work as a messenger in the village. The farthest that she had ever gone from home was to Appleloosa, to deliver some mail. Otherwise, she usually acted as a messenger within the village. She had grown used to the heat from flying during the day.<br /><br />After she had been driven out, she flew to Appleloosa and boarded the next train, with nothing but a few bits to her name. She got out at Canterlot, and saw an advertisement for applying for the guard. Impulsively she decided to go for it. Lyona trained for several years, and became a commander. <br />(Happenings in the Everfree was her first mission.)<br /><br />Following the mission, Lyona decided to quit the guard. However, if she was needed for another mission she would consider it. Lyona later moved to Ponyville and found a job as a pet shop worker.<br />
