Appearance: Marina, standing up straight, is a decent 4'9, and her eyes are as blue as sapphires. Her hair, usually fixed up in a ponytail, is of a light-brown color. She is almost always seen wearing a yellow shirt, white skirt, and white shoes.
Personality: Generally a cheery person, Marina hardly lets anything get her down. But when the going gets tough or she engages in a Pokemon battle, her cheery side makes way for a more serious tone. This doesn't mean she's fearless, though. Far from it. She tends to get scared of spiders easily, and she gets nervous when separated from Dazzler - her Flaafy - and other people. She is also afraid of losing Dazzler for good.
Backstory: Back when she was six years old, Marina had always been an adventurous kid. She would always go off into the wild, even if her parents told her not to go. Although she says she would just go out and play, she would really go on her little adventures. However, one day she had ventured off too deep into this one forest, and had gotten herself lost. Try as she might to get out, she would just wind up in the same location in the forest. She was hopelessly lost, as she just sat on the grassy ground, sobbing to herself.

That is, until a wild Mareep had found and approached Marina, noticing she was saddened. While Marina continued to cry, she suddenly felt something soft and fluffy rubbing against her. Curious, she lifted her wet hands off her face and looked around. As soon as she saw Mareep, the little girl jumped back a bit in shock before landing on her back. The Mareep, however, just approached the child and used her head to lift the girl into an upright sitting position. As the girl looked at the Mareep, confused, she saw the sheep pokemon resting her head on the child's lap. Feeling a little calmer, Marina simply hugged the Mareep and rested her head on the fluffy pokemon's body.

A few minutes after, Marina thought she heard someone calling her name as she lifted her head quickly. The Mareep heard this too, and lifted her head off the girl's lap to let her stand up. Once the child got on her feet, both she and the Mareep quickly began to run towards the direction of the voice. After a while, the two eventually broke out of the forest as the girl suddenly saw the source of that voice she had heard earlier. Suddenly gaining a quick burst of speed, Marina quickly rushed over to her parents and hugged them tight, tears flowing from her face. If it wasn't for the Mareep, she would have been completely alone in the forest, and something bad could have possibly happened to her. When she let go of her parents, Marina ran back to the Mareep and hugged her, thanking her for being there when she was alone.

Ten years after the forest incident, Marina walked out of her house and looked towards the forest. She was old enough to handle herself and go out for a journey as a Pokemon Trainer, so she decided to approach the forest again. But this time, instead of Marina walking into the forest to meet the Mareep, it was instead the sheep pokemon that walked out of the forest to meet her. Surprised that the Mareep remembered her after all this time, Marina approached the sheep slowly. Pulling out a Pokeball that she had recieved as a birthday present, she clicked the button on it as the item grew to full size. While the Mareep just stood there, Marina tossed the Pokeball out as it made contact with the pokemon, a red beam shooting out and sucking the sheep inside. As she stood tense, the Pokeball still shaking around, she kept watching for it to stop. Eventually, however, it stopped shaking and, with a smile, Marina rushed over to the Pokeball and let the Mareep out once more. After giving the Mareep a hug and her new nickname Dazzler, Marina pulled out a blue scarf and wrapped it around Dazzler's neck. Nodding at how Dazzler looked, Marina brushed the sheep's coat gently and smiled. She now has her first Pokemon, and she couldn't have had a better companion. Little did she know, however, that she would be part of an adventure even she could not foresee.
