Appearance: Marina Emerald is an aqua blue earth pony with deep sky-blue eyes and green eyeliner. She has long eyelashes and normally wears her mane bundled up on her head, and her tail neatly bound with gold rings. Though she keeps her attire simple she can occasionally adorn herself with jewelry and other precious trinkets.

Cutie Mark: Marina's cutie mark is a tan parchment map with a cutlass on top that symbolizes her sharp mind and her ability to discovery things; especially treasure.

Personality: Marina Emerald comes from a background of pirates and seafaring ponies. She is a sassy, head strong and even tempered earth pony who has a knack for adventure. Although she doesn't consider herself adventurous, she is always the first to help ponies in need of her expertise. Underneath her womanly, flirtatious persona she is actually very loving and considerate to the ponies she cares about. However, years of experience have taught her to exercise wit and charm to get what she wants out of others (as well as survive). She loves the high seas, but is also torn between hating it because she finds herself following in her parent's hoofsteps. Even though most other ponies consider it unusual of her, Marina does have a healthy understanding of arcane magic that proves useful in times of peril.

Backstory: Marina Emerald was born on the high seas to two notorious pirate ponies known as Chaos Emerald and Melody Emerald. From an early age Marina learned how to take care of herself on the high seas but quickly learned she did not appreciate a pirate's lifestyle. That, plus her terribly neglectful parents, encouraged her to run away and find a life of her own off the high seas. Some time later, however, a certain inner desire encouraged her to pursue adventure; earning her a cutie mark (which she actually didn't notice until after a day of danger and battle). Getting older, however, Marina has settled herself down and prefers to stay out of trouble; but always finds herself in it for some reason or other.
