Appearance: As round and bulky as any Shirish mare, Old Lace is a soft, faded pink, with her pale gray mane piled up on her head, and fixed with a pair of pearl-tipped pins. Her baby-blue eyes, squinted with age, peer through a pair of gold-rimmed half-moon spectacles, held around her neck with a silver-and-pearl chain. A pair of matching teardrop earrings hang from her large, wrinkled ears.

Personality: Old Lace is a very, very old pony, with a grandmotherly air. Sweet and kind, but very forgetful, she may ask you the same questions fourteen times in the space of a few moments. She won't take any backtalk, however, and responds sternly to any perceived misbehavior.

Backstory: Old Lace was born the well-to-do daughter of a dressmaker and a hatter in Canterlot. From a young age, she was helping her mother and father in their respective fields, and many presumed she'd earn her mark that way. But while she assisted with many beautiful fashions, her hooves were moved more by duty than passion. Around the age of twelve, she was sent to finishing school. There, while learning the ins and outs of being a proper young lady, Lace found she had a great love of refinement and manners -- it was then that she discovered her destiny. Lace would be one of the most popular up-and-coming socialites in years. She eventually married a dashing young Guard officer, and became a teacher at a boarding school. While she never had any foals of her own, there were many fillies she taught that she loved like her own daughters.<br /><br />Once the Head Matron of the Royal Ladyship Academy, Old Lace retired with the closing of the school, and now lives in her husband's family estate in the heart of the Everfree.
