Cutie Mark:

A green and gray microchip. She is a master of machines of all kinds, but electronics are where she excels. Able to both program and build computers, she will get a job done quick.

Personality:

Very shy around those she doesn't know, and sometimes those she does know, she has a tendency to be rather quiet and reserved. However, once somepony is able to strike up a conversation with her, they will be able to get her talking for hours if they so wish. She truly wishes to find friends and companions, but her shyness always gets the better of her and she usually freezes up when attempting to approach another pony or start a conversation. Sometimes large crowds can send her anxiety through the roof and send her running in order to find a quiet place to settle down if she's not with a trusted friend to help keep her calm.

Her one sensitive area is her size, or lack of it. Often being mistaken for a teenager, her frustrations can break through her normally quiet surface and she will end up correcting the other pony in a manner not expected of such a shy pony.

Backstory:

Megabyte was born under the name Blackberry Fields to a farm couple living outside Fillydelphia. Her life on the berry farm was as expected, but her lack of strength quickly became obvious to her parents. When combined with her slow growth in the times when she should be having growth spurts and her lack of a berry or farm-based cutie mark, the tension coming from her parents could start to be felt.

One day when exploring the city on her way to the train station after school, she came across an electronics shop and eventually pushed her way inside as her curiosity became too much. After spending much more time in the shop than she expected, getting lost in staring at everything around her and listening to the employees explain how everything worked, she quickly scurried out of the store to make her way to the train station so she could get home on time. She returned to the same store on her way home from school most days of the week, learning more and more about the technology and how everything worked. Eventually managing to convince one of the ponies working there to allow her to help in putting one of the computers together, she didn't even notice a cutie mark appearing on her flank amidst her excitement. Once the repair pony pointed it out to her, however, she looked back and gave an excited cheer before rushing for the train station to show her parents.

Her parents, however, weren't so thrilled to see the image of a computer chip. She found herself getting nothing but anger from the two ponies she expected to support her the most and locked herself in her room. She did her best to ignore the lingering disappointment that hung around both her and her parents, but it soon became too much and one day after school, she didn't take the train back home and instead hid at her friend's house. When no pony seemed to come looking for her, she did her best to keep going as she always had from her new home, but the events had caused her to become a much more quiet and inward pony than she had been before, these changes sticking with her even after graduating from school.

Once she was old enough to no longer need to go to school, she changed her name to something more fitting of her talents and cutie mark: Megabyte. With a new identity, she moved to Canterlot to start up a new business with inspiration from the ponies who helped her realize her talents weren't meant for the farm.
