• Moonstone

    Moonstone

    • Age: 20's

      Gender: Female

      Species: Unicorn

Appearance: With a body that is covered in black and white splotches, Moonstone is often mistaken for a cow at first glance. Upon further investigation many will see that her white Turritella shaped horn actually makes her a Unicorn. Her vibrant, plum eyes break up the black and white scene, and they also match one of the three moons on her flank.

Cutie Mark: Moonstone's cutie mark is of three moons and three stars. The moon on top is the same color of purple that her eyes are, and in the dip of the moon is a four yellow sided star. The moon to the right is yellow, like the star of the previous moon, and has a blue five sided star. The final moon on the left is blue, the same blue has the previous star, and has a purple star with many different points.

Moonstone's name and cutie mark represent dreams and nightmares, both playing an important role in the everyday lives of ponies. Moonstone realized at a young at that as long as a pony keeps dreaming, darkness can never take over*

* See Backstory for more information.

Personality: Moonie (Moonstone) can often be described as kind, imaginative, clever, impulsive, indecisive, and restless. Other ponies who know Moonstone still see her as a child some days, due to her always daydreaming with her head in the clouds and playing make believe with younger ponies. Despite her endless imagination, Moonstone is fairly bright, and believes that the best way to rid Equestria of evil is to never stop dreaming and to always have hope.

Aside from the younger ponies, Moonstone can be considered outgoing around her other pony friends, well the girls at least. Place a pony of the opposite gender in the same room with her and expect her to have a steady conversation with him, well that's asking a bit much considering she becomes more timid than Fluttershy in that scenario.

Backstory: When Moonstone as a just a filly, she never worried about getting her Cutie Mark like all the fillies her age. No, instead Moonstone day dreamed during her classes, and played make believe, going on adventures. It didn't make sense to anypony until one of the other little fillies in her class fell ill with a sickness that no pony else had ever seen before. He had fallen into a deep sleep, breaking out in a heavy sweat, crying out for his mother, even though she was at his side at all times. No one knew what he was dreaming about, and not a single nurse or doctor new how to treat him.

Moonstone went to see her classmate one day and realized she could see a deep purple mist surrounding his body. Moving closer she stared at him for the longest time, and finally she made it into his dream. She closed her eyes and saw what he saw, a dark type of pony attacking his mind, a creature she had never seen before.

At first, fear took over her body, but it didn't take long for her to realize the most important thing about nightmares and dreams, they weren't real. Stomping one hoof on the ground and shouted at the dark creature, "You will leave him alone! You aren't real, let him dream in peace!"

Quickly the pony's mother and father rushed into the room, fearing the worst from the loud noises. Instead, they found their little filly standing and smiling next to Moonstone. The parents cried out with joy, questioning Moonstone, not understanding what she had done. Though, before she could answer, the no longer ill pony answered for her:

"She filled my head with sweet dreams, scaring away all of the nasty creatures momma. Dreams are her special talent!"

At first Moonstone didn't think it was her talent, but as she looked to her flank where the filly was pointing, she saw her Cutie Mark had appeared.

Ever since that day, Moonstone considered herself the protector of dreams, a secret nickname she gave to herself. She understood that the most important thing to anypony is their dreams, and that no matter what, as long as they kept dreaming, the evil would never be able to win.
