Appearance:
Though he is usually shrouded in a thick grey cloak, Merdyn's eyes are his greatest feature. They are almost grey, but very bright. They stand heavily in contrast with the rest of his body, which is quite dark-toned.

His mane is carefully combed back over his head and straightened. For some strange reason his ears are always pointed down, a physical disability he had since he was born.
Cutie Mark:
Merdyn doesn't know precisely what his cutie mark resembles, but that is what his goal became. Finding out what this strange pattern means. In his studies he keeps finding it, slowly uncovering its definition. It has something to do with magic.
Personality: Moros 'Merdyn' Obrimos is a pony with a short temper. He defends his beliefs and passions fiercely, and is very stubborn with preserving what he thinks is true. When he is finally convinced (usually recuireing very well though out arguments and evidence) he adapts to new information very quickly, merging it with what he already knows.

Merdyn is very perceptive and can quickly adjust to new situations and problems. He is not quick to act however. His body is not as nimble as his mind.

He strongly believes that anypony who is not an intellectual should strive to become one. Knowledge is the ultimate reward to anything and everything.

He doesn't show his emotions very quickly. He isn't unsociable, he just feels like emotions are unnescesary... unless of course they are, but when that is the case he usually puts up an act, which can be noticeable sometimes.

Though he can be very grumpy at times, Merdyn can be sociable if he respects and likes the ponies he is conversing with. Usually he brightens up a lot if you present him a new piece of information.
Backstory: Merdyn grew up in Canterlot, in a family that was relatively rich. Not over the top 'stacks-of-gold' rich, but above the usual standard for Canterlot citizens.

He quickly developed an above-average talent for magic. Not something extreme, but with lots of studying and hard word enough to give him entrance to the school for gifted unicorns. Though at first he though his special talent would have something to do with magic, it eventually became apparent that Merdyn is a very good magical researcher, unraveling the way magic works, rather than executing it.

Throughout his youth he remained a modest and sober attitude towards his talents. He wrote books about his theories, but never published them. He made essays and papers for his schooling, but never presented them to the public. For his knowledge is only preserved for his closest friends.

As of now, he is studying several subjects revolving magic with a group of five other excellent magicians. Mostly he is traveling around equestria to execute, discuss and evaluate experiments with well knows magicians and unicorns, trying to gather more knowledge.
