Appearance: She is still small for her age, which she's a bit self-concious about. Dark blue coat, black mane and tail with thin light blue streaks. <br />

Cutie Mark: a telescope aimed toward a trio of stars.

Personality: Personality: Very bookish and keeps to herself. She tends to shrink into the background of large groups, and smaller<br />groups make her a bit nervous if she's not sure of her place within them. Rules make her comfortable, as there's less a<br />chance she'll screw something up if she knows and follows the rules. Because of this, NightShine tends to use etiquitte<br />rules to interact with people.

Backstory: Night Shine was born and grew up in a small village in Germaney. There were a lot of Equestrians living in the<br />area, so she became fluent in both languages (whatever the equivalent of German and English are in Pony-world). Her elder<br />brother is in the process of taking over the family farm, and her younger brother doesn't yet have a cutie mark, but has<br />begun to express an interest in fireplaces and rooftops. When the Owl Post arrived, it wasn't exactly a surprise, as Night<br />Shine was very interested in magic, verging on obsession. Nopony really understood her interest in the night sky, or the<br />books she collected. Though they weren't particularly mean to her, Night Shine didn't have many friends because she didn't<br />have a lot in common with other ponies.
