Backstory: Overdrive is a young, hardworking and determined pegasus, who grew up in the Applewood suburb of San Burrito, as an only child. His father was a skilled mechanic. Overdrive never really knew his mother; she died of a terminal illness when he was very young. Overdrive decided to leave home after his hometown became riddled with violent riots and crime. He left after his father urged him to do so, in the name of Overdrive's safety.<br /><br />Overdrive doesn't like to talk about his past, because it opens old wounds, and brings too many bad memories back to haunt him. To this day, he has no idea what happened to his father after he left home.<br /><br />Overdrive came into Ponyville during his travels. He noticed how peaceful, quiet and tranquil it was, a polar opposite of what he had grown to be accustomed to. He decided at that point to settle in Ponyville, and now calls Ponyville home.<br /><br />Using his mechanic background, Overdrive found an affordable piece of real estate in an abandoned warehouse near the outskirts of town. Soon after, his shop: Ground Up Restoration & Repair, began operation, servicing Ponyville and the surrounding area.<br /><br />As a colt, he demonstrated a very advanced mechanical knowledge. His cutie mark, a wrench, appeared one day after he got bored one day, and decided to tinker around with some spare parts laying around in his family's workshop.
