• Paradox And Crowe

    Count Paradox

    • Age: Paradox: 23. Crowe: 700.

      Gender: Male

      Species: Unicorn

Appearance: Paradox: When a pony sees Paradox, their opinion can be vastly different of him, depending on what side they come up on. If they happen to approach his left side, they can see a pristine white coat, whiter than the clouds in the sky, with a mane and tail of black, and an eye with an iris of blood red. However, when approaching on the right side, they get a completely different picture. His entire right half of his coat is pitch black, as dark as the darkest night, with a mane and tail of black, and a red strip of cloth covering an eye which, if exposed, is black itself, with a red pupil and iris. His horn takes a mix from both halves, having strips of black and white swirling from his forehead to the tip.
Crowe: A demon that takes over Paradox when his eyepatch is removed, Crowe changes certain aspects of his host's body, while leaving others untouched. His body is stretched, almost becoming alicorn size. His horn grows in length, doubling in size. His eyepatch is moved to his forehead, made to be a bandana, to show off his covered eye. And, the most interesting and horrifying aspect of his changes, two large, skeletal wings jut from his back, stained red from blood.

Cutie Mark: Paradox: His Cutie Mark is a red question mark, showing the internal contradiction that he has.
Crowe: He doesn't change anything about Paradox's Cutie Mark.

Personality: Paradox: He is a rather lonely stallion, living alone with Crowe in his head. However, that isn't to say he doesn't have his fair share of friends, who he is fiercely loyal to. Usually calm, cool, and collected, he does have the moments where he snaps, removing his eyepatch and releasing Crowe in his anger.
Crowe: Who says being a demon can't be a little fun? Crowe is not your typical demon, full of bloodlust and hatred, no no. His is a bit more laid back and cynical, choosing to play mind games with ponies and toy with them, but never attacking a good one. However, when it comes to his job, he is very, VERY serious, stopping short of nothing to claim his evil prey.

Backstory: Paradox: Early in his colthood, Paradox had his first run-in with Crowe. It was a normal day, just like any other day in his life. He and his family were on a picnic on a hill overlooking Ponyville, next to the Everfree Forest. After eating, he and his older brother decided to play a game of hoofball. His brother threw it a bit too close to the forest, and Paradox, not knowing the true dangers, ran to grab it. However, a large, black Scorpio Minor ran out of the forest, lunging at Paradox. His brother jumped and shoved him out of the way, taking the Scorpo's tail to his chest, poisoning him and killing him quickly. Wanting to fend it off and help his brother, he ran screaming at it, but was hit in the face by one of its claws, tearing his eye open. It was at this time that his father got to them, fending off the Scorpio and ultimately killing it. When he did, a large cloud of dark matter was expelled from the body and congealed in one spot. Paradox was off to the side, to he couldn't hear the full conversation, but he heard the cloud say something about his father killing others and being a pony of evil, and his father retorted with something about the past, and that it was different now. The cloud began going for his father, but he contained it in a small sphere until he could find something to do with it. He then rushed over to Paradox, finding him fading fast, and he would have to work fast to save him. After a moment of quick thinking, he realized a way to take care of both of the issues at hoof. With nowhere to go and no way out of it, he carefully transferred the demon cloud into Paradox's wounded eye, the demon's magic and aura effectively healing it and sealing it away inside of him. However, what the father hadn't counted on was how quickly the demon would try to take over Paradox's body. His once pristine white, mane, and tail were being turned pitch black as the demon began taking control. His father, quickly thinking again, grabbed the picnic blanket they were using, tore a strip of fabric from it, and magiced it to keep the demon under sedation, or at least under control. He tied it over Paradox's eye, but the damage had been done. Paradox was now half black, half white, looking like an odd ying-yang pony. But it seemed the demon was controlled now, the color didn't spread. And so, for many years to come, Paradox's father taught him how to control the being inside his eye, how he might use its energy to help him and such. But then, one day came, and the eyepatch was unintentionally removed. The demon regained control and attempted to kill Paradox's father, but was subdued again, only succeeding in breaking his leg. With this, Paradox found it necessary to leave home on his own and not endanger his family anymore. He moved away from town to the edge of the Everfree, doing mercinary work for any who seek him out.
Crowe: A demon from the lower depths of Tartarus, he has been tasked with seeking out and ponies who would do evil, and destroy them, in repentance for the crimes that put him in Tartarus to begin with. He is very good at his job, never going after innocents, only evils, until the events with Paradox and his family. Now, he lives a symbiotic relationship with him: In return for helping to keep Paradox alive, Paradox helps him search out evil and take it out. He has never explained to Paradox why he went after his father, not wanting to crush his soul with the truth. He works as a Reaper of sorts, seeking out those who have done great evil, using magic to separate the soul from the body and placing it in a special "Spirit Pouch" for later transfer to Tartarus.
