• Parradox

    Parradox

    • Age: He lost count after the first 2000 years

      Gender: Male

      Species: Non-Pony

Appearance: Parradox has a similar appearance to the fire phoenix Philomena. He has a neon blue torso with black and blue wings, a black face and black tail. His eyes crackle with neon blue lighting and he his talons are obsidian black. He is far taller than an average phoenix and weighs more as well, this is due to a magic modification placed on him by a zebra magician.

Personality: Parradox hides his true feelings excellently, the destruction of his home hardened his heart to stone and he finds the magic of friendship absolutely absurd, the same with the power of love. Two things that are simply abstract thoughts have no real value being part of magic. He has a very sarcastic sense of humor, he is very neutral on most subjects, preferring to hold his tongue in most arguments and simply observe others whilst they argue. He has a particular dislike towards Draconequus’s, simply for their love of chaos which contrasts highly against his love for order and calm. He is always polite when greeting others and calls most by your majesty, Miss, Master, Mister or Doctor dependent on status. He cares greatly for the wellbeing of others and can’t stand when they are in trouble and he can do something about it. He always welcomes haters, for they are the lifeblood on the internet, without them nothing good would be achieved on YouTube for everything would be good by default, and although he knows most don’t see it the same way as he does, he knows that some must endure hate in order for others to be great.
Backstory: Parradox was born much like Philomena was, a simple phoenix that could not talk or express his opinions, however he was born unlike any other phoenix. He was born with manipulation over lightning instead of the usual fire. He was harassed by the other phoenixes for his difference, but never let them get him down and focused on mastering his new skills. He became the fastest flyer there was, his lightning aiding his speed even further.

He soon began to test the limits of phoenix abilities by dabbling into time based magic, however an elderly Zebra came to the his home town and attempted to force the phoenixes to do his bidding. He cast ancient magic on them which turned them into fully aware, sentient beings with the ability to speak, think for themselves and take orders.

Parradox was the first to fall as he had learned to trust the zebra but was betrayed first as a result. The zebra locked Parradox’s mind within his body, Parradox could do nothing but watch as his body aided in the capture and occasional murder of his fellow phoenixes.

However the Zebra’s magic was beginning to wear thin, the more phoenixes he converted the more his power waned, those struck by the magic were under his control the most but those struck earlier…

Parradox managed to utilize a single spell, he reversed time to the moment where the Zebra was about to attack him, he fried the Zebra’s heart but still got struck by the Zebra’s magic, however, without the Zebra alive to control him, he had free rein over his actions.

He explained the situation to the elders and they accepted his story but they’re celebrations were cut short as a time vortex opened where Parradox had reversed time, he had not properly completed the spell and it had created a tear in the time space continuum. Parradox attempted to shut it down but was not skilled enough, he flew around the town trying to save anyone he could but he was not strong enough to carry a phoenix and they were not fast enough to escape the pull of the tear.

Parradox watched as his family and friends were pulled into the tear, at the final moment, he saw a single red egg fly towards the portal, determined not to let the species die out he grabbed it and flew as far as he could, without the energy from Parradox to feed it, the tear shut down.

Parradox raised the baby phoenix which he named: Philomena.

On Philomena’s 10th birthday, he told her what had happened to their kind, she was upset but didn’t blame him. Parradox knew he couldn’t carry on travelling with a young child so he gave her to the only one he knew could be trusted, a young Alicorn called Celestia.

After that he wandered the world, his speed making him impossible to catch and his magic only improving with each day. He never dabbles into more than a simple time bubble for risk of killing innocents.

Then one day, roughly 2000 years after his home was destroyed, he felt a strange presence coming from somewhere far away, but also extremely close, as if right next to him.

Determined to find out the source of collective magic he was feeling, he sliced through the fabric of the universe and lept through the rip he had created, it sealed itself up behind him.
What he saw was incredibly strange to him: The Rift Café.

He entered without the slightest clue where he was, a simple invisibility charm was all it took and he was free to walk around, he took a seat at table 52 and put a small vision charm on himself that made him appear like a pony, he ordered a hot chocolate and began to observe the comings and goings of the patrons.

They were an odd bunch but he soon found solitude within the café, he picked up on the topic of discussion and wished to learn more.

He now sit’s at table 52… only ever ordering a cup of hot chocolate.
