Appearance: Looks a lot like her mother Queen Chrysalis but pink and less imposing and more friendly when she is in her changeling form.
She uses a unicorn form when she goes out. She has a sparkly silver mane and tail as well as a bright pink coat. Her eyes in both forms are gold with speckles of pink and green.
Always wears a magenta scarf around her neck no matter what form she is in.
Cutie Mark: Her cutie mark when in Pony form is of a partially opened book with a monarch butterfly on the cover and a pegasus quill next to it. The book represents her love and knowledge of many fairytales and its partial openness being how once you take the time to know her she will open up to you easily. The monarch butterfly represents her name and status as being a royal changeling. The pegasus quill also represents her want to escape from being a changeling and to be a pony.
Personality: Very shy but as soon as you talk about books or fairytales she opens up and it becomes nearly impossible to stop her from talking. Trys to feed as little as possible so she doesn't hurt the ponies around her. Is very girly and tries her hardest to keep up with fashion trends while staying true to her favourite colour. When the subject of Changelings comes up she is quick to defend.
Backstory: Princess Butterfly was born as heir to the throne of the changelings. Butterfly didn't want to become a queen and have all that responsibility. On her first hunt she went to the Canterlot library and started to read a book for her cover but quickly fell in love with them. Slowly she fell in love with pony kind and their stories, always wanting to learn more about their culture.
One day the changelings brought in a pony she had known and quite liked. The pony was drained to the point where she was too weak to live. Princess Butterfly had been tasked with disposing of the body and while taking her outside of the hive decided to take the mare's scarf and wear it to honour her friend's memory. After that Princess Butterfly drained as little energy from ponies as possible, only enough to survive and maintain her form.
