• Princess Horizon Dust

    AmberDust

    • Age: Slightly above the age of Cadance/Shining Armor. Adult

      Gender: Female

      Species: Alicorn

Appearance: A light-blue unicorn mare who ascended to Alicornhood--Her long blue mane is woven with stars, and is a symbol of the sky right before sunrise. It transitions from dark blue to pink.
She wears a few earring on each ear, and the earrings connect via silver ribbons to her horn. Her eyes are the colour of amber

Cutie Mark: A bright flash of light, like the one seen at sunrise. Meant to symbolize hope. She earned her cutie mark when she was young, by inspiring a village of poverty-stricken fillies and colts with hope and the will to move on for a better tomorrow. She continues to do so to this day, as it is her special talent.

Personality: Honest and regal, this Alicorn is a firm believer in justice and truth. She is clever and smart, and values intelligence, magic, and history. In her spare time, she enjoys hearing and making up fantastical stories. In the end, she always wants what is best for her subjects, even if it means ruling her land with an iron hoof. Horizon is quiet, wise, and pensive, but because of this pensiveness, she can often get lost in thought and lose focus from the main issue, often getting distracted by smaller worries if too many issues pop up at once.
She believes in second chances, and the freedom to choose one's destiny. She can see through lies with relative ease, and has lost her patience for dishonest ponies. She isn't afraid to do what it takes to achieve peace, but she's still getting used to her political power.
Before she ascended to Alicornhood, she had never had this much power over others, and because of that, she often second-guesses her decisions and can become stressed out when the ball's in her court. Horizon always feels the need to bounce her ideas/decisions off of others, as she's afraid of becoming corrupt (like past rulers). She suffers from an inferiority complex at times due to her upbringing.
As a leader, she’s been getting better lately, but these fears are constantly in the back of her mind.
After being a leader for a few years, Horizon has developed a thick skin and can be quite intimidating if she needs to be. Despite this, she is still, at heart, a very warm and caring pony, but she worries that she may seem weak to other world leaders.
Her subjects look to her for guidance on a personal level.

      Backstory: Childhood:
Horizon Dust was born in a small village rife with poverty. She and her family were safe (financially), but from a very young age, Horizon had to witness the negative effects that money (and a lack of money) had on the hearts of others.
Horizon had two older siblings, a brother and a sister, and both were talented unicorns. Because of this, she grew up feeling inferior, and always strove to prove herself to her family whenever she could. She befriended other ponies like her who felt "inferior", such as a poor Pegasus colt and an Earth Pony mare. After they had been friends for a few years, the Pegasus broke his wing and fell into a deep depression, as he could no longer do his job and was already short on cash. Horizon had seen what had happened to other ponies in his situation, so she took him in and inspired him with hope for the future--something the rest of her village lacked. It was at this time that she discovered her talent for bringing hope.
Adulthood:
Horizon Dust ascended to Alicornhood later on in life thanks to be countless ponies whose lives she saved/repaired by giving them the greatest gift of all--hope. Once she ascended, she was sent to a country far North of Equestria to rule there. This country had seen much war and poverty due to their history of corrupted rulers, and hope was just what they needed. Horizon pledged to fix the nation and create a better tomorrow for all who lived there. She rules today over a peaceful and quiet nation, but her heart still aches for her family and friend back home.
