      Appearance: Being the offspring of a pony mare and a male griffon, Ragnar is a hippogriff. As is common amongst half-breeds of his nature, Ragnar's physical appearance combines features of both species. <br /><br />His upper body is griffon in nature, and the area from his head down to his chest and wings are coated in dark, dirty-brown feathers. The tuft of feathers that sticks out from the top of his head is fringed in red, and Ragnar usually keeps it slicked back out of his eyes. <br /><br />About halfway along the length of his body, Ragnar's feathers darken until they fade into the grayish coat of his rear half, which resembles the hindquarters of a pony. His tail also resembles that of a pony, and is dark-brown like his upper half. Ragnar's wings are also dark brown, and the end feathers are fringed in a small amount of red like those on top of his head. <br /><br />Because the upper half of his body is griffon in nature, Ragnar obviously possesses a beak and claws, the latter of which greatly improve his ability to handle small arms and melee weapons. His beak and claws are both a lighter yellow-orange, and his eyes are a deep amber. <br /><br />Ragnar stands half a head taller than most pony stallions, and is lean while maintaining a solidly-muscular build.<br />

      Cutie Mark: Because he possesses the hindquarters of a pony, it would be expected that Ragnar would also have a cutie mark, as most hippogriffs do. Despite this, it would seem that his flanks are extensively marked with what appear to be tattoos, depicting an ornate, stylized, multi-horned skull of caprican/bovine nature. <br /><br />Only two conclusions can be drawn from this: either the tattoos hold some deeper meaning to Ragnar than his cutie mark or lack thereof, or he has a particular fondness for tacky body markings.<br /><br />We'll just call it inconclusive. <br />

      Personality: Ragnar is cocky, and extremely so. This is not entirely without reason, though, as he is both a capable fighter and something of a charmer. His mix of persistence and cool relaxedness, as well as his reputation as a merc and all the skills that come with such an occupation, have made him something of a mare-magnet (at least to those individuals that aren't immediately prompted to smash a bottle over his head). <br /><br />In less intimate matters, Ragnar has a propensity for boisterousness, but is never without the ability to back his words up with actions. Mistaking his confidence for bravado would be unwise. This carries over to open combat as well, wherein Ragnar enjoys talking, shouting, and generally making a show out of a firefight whenever he can. <br /><br />Unfortunately, Ragnar's life as a gun for hire has made him fond of some of the Wasteland's more ruinous luxuries, such as the bottle and the Dash inhaler. When not on a job, he can almost always be found in the nearest bar, "hive of scum and villainy", or brothel drinking, drugging, and sexing it up. <br /><br />Despite his less appealing aspects, it must be reiterated that Ragnar is a capable mercenary, and you can be damned sure that he'll finish whatever job he starts.<br />

      Backstory: The son of a reformed griffon raider and an earth pony doctor, Ragnar grew up in a not-so-idyllic settlement on the outskirts of postwar Manehattan. <br /><br />Other than mentions of his childhood and a potential sibling, and despite his love for running his beak, surprisingly-little else is known about his history, save for the fact that he has been working as a mercenary and bounty hunter for at least the last two years. Other than that, Ragnar scarcely volunteers much about his past. <br /><br />But who knows? Maybe if you happen to run into Ragnar somewhere in the wasteland you can get him to open up a little more. Maybe.
