Backstory: Once, in a land far away from ponyville or canterlot. There lived two young boys lived with their adoptive father, but the unusual events that brought them together will also tear them asunder. You see, the young colts use to belong to a small village outside the boarders of equestria. But the area was dangerous, for it was often plagued with thieves and barbarians. And one fateful night, the village was finally conquered. depleted of warriors, and with little bits to hire gaurds or mercenaries, they finally fell after years of resistance. It seemed as if the barbarians had slaughtered every living soul in the village, but by chance a passing warrior heard the cries of two young colts; the only survivors amongst a sea of destruction and death. Not knowing what else to do with the children, and being too kind of heart to just leave them, the honorable warrior decided to raise the children as his own. For several years the warrior who wished simply to be called "Bo" raised the children, and decided to name the youngest "ronin" and the eldest "sai". As they grew he taught them all he knew about the world as well as the way of the sword, so they would never be defenseless again. The children were very interested in swordsmanship, and quickly decided that they would compete to become the worlds greatest swordsman. Even though ronin could never actually beat sai, he loved competing nonetheless. But sadly, their happiness did not last long. Upon ronin's 18th birthday, a strange swordsman by the name of incognito challenged Bo to a fight to the death. The now old swordsman had never told the children, but he had once been one of the greatest swordsman in the land; and he knew that one day a younger more skilled swordsman would come to end his life. With his only worries being the sake of his beloved sons, the old warrior confronted incognito; and after an epic showdown the old warrior who the children knew as teacher And father had fallen in battle. But the bloodshed did not end there, for sai wrecklessly attacked the older more skilled warrior. And with a single slash he ended sai's life. Ronin, his heart now heavy with the loss of his only remaining family, also prepared to attack the far superior warrior. But after being quickly defeated incognito spared his life, much to ronin's confusion and dismay. The warrior explained himself simply "you are too young to fall to my blade just yet young one. You have not yet lived and experience what life has to offer, you may face me again when you are worthy." He said, before quickly leaving. Ronin soon after buried his family, and swore upon their graves that he would defeat incognito and become the greatest swordsman that has ever lived. Taking up his fathers blade, he set out with both a goal and a dream. His adventure has just begun.
