Appearance: Runedawn is a middle-aged, work seasoned stallion. He has several marks on his body that he got while smiting. He has a dark red-brown coat, and a Black mane with grey hints in it. He is very sturdy, large and strong, and looks like he can take quite the punch. He has a braided beard which looks like it has been groomed for years. His mane and tail however, are tattered, and barely got any attention other that keeping it out of his eyes.

Cutie Mark: His cutie mark represents the hammer and runes that he uses to smith. The colors represent his inner burning passionate core, and his wise, straightforward and calm attitude at his outer shell...

Personality: Runedawn is a bit grumpy. He is also very crude and bold. He will tell you things the way they are, without beating about the bush. He won't make the truth any more pleasant for you. Even though he is quite unsociable and sympathetic, he does isn't socially awkward. He knows how people will react and feel about what he says and does, and he knows that he is a bit unsociable. Thats just the way he thinks things will get done. If you get to know runedawn better, you will see that there is a softer, more fatherly side to him, but he will only show this side of him to the ones he trusts most.<br /><br />Runedawn won't help just anyone... But when someone really needs him, he will help him without any hesitation, as if it were a duty to help people like that. He only does things for people he thinks that deserve it, and he only does things that he think are right. He won't tell you why he won't help you, or why he will. He will answer you yes, or no, and that will be the end of it.<br /><br />Runedawn is also very wise. In his life he has seen all sides of the world. Its happy and its dark sides. He knows how the world works, and how people will act in it. He usually keeps to himself, but he will give advice to those who ask him for it.<br />

Backstory: Runedawn is an earthstriker. The earthstrikers are an old family line that goes back until the times that earth ponies still lived deep in the mountains. The earthstrikers have an ancient earth power that makes them able to strike runes into any object. There are many runes, and every one of them has a different effect on every different object. The earthstrikers have devoted their lives to understanding this aincient power that has been given to them.<br /><br />Sadly, without any result. The runesmiths have almost no control over their power. They can vaguely try to get a result that they want, but usually they will get a different result, or no result at all. Only the most skilled of runesmiths in the bloodline have been able to consistently strike runes into objects.<br /><br />Runedawn himself was thought the art of runesmithing when he was a young colt. He was an earthstriker from his mother's side, so she thought him how to use his hammer to smith, and to strike runes into the things he created. He learned slowly, but hours of practice compensated for that. He is now a very skilled smith, and an excellent runestriker.<br /><br />Because of his job, Runedawn has become a very strong stallion. Stronger than most other stallions. Even though he is a little old, he is considered to be amongst the strongest of ponies in equestria.<br />
