Samara (Aka Venatrix
By 00Pony
Age: 20
Gender: Female
Species: Pegasus
Appearance: Lithe and with an agile build, Samara is the very picture of 'assassin'. Her coat is a dark blackish blue. Her mane and tail are charcoal black - resembling Luna's original style, but slightly longer , and her eyes are a golden amber, and have more advanced night vision than normal ponies, at the cost of her day sight being poorer than most. Her teeth are sharper than normal ponies, almost like a changeling's. Her canines fall just short of showing from under her lip when her mouth is shut.
She has been deemed attractive by most standards - partially for the exotic factor of being a non ghoulified Thestral, and even Ghoulified were a rare sight in any wasteland. She uses this to her advantage on occasion, though she generally hates the attention.

Samara wears lightweight leather armor, with a few fire blackened - to reduce reflection - plates of metal covering her vitals (heart, lungs, etc). Over the leather, tucks beneath it in places, she wears dark robes, nearly the same color as the night sky, which fall partially towards the ground, but not enough to prove a problem in movement. The robes are generally used to hide her physique - mainly her bat like wings - as well as to help conceal her in the dark.
The robes can be pulled up into a hood, which she leaves down when she is not on the hunt, despite it showing her tufted ears.
Samara carries a small crescent moon brooch, which was a gift from her 'Mother', a Pegasus who took her in when she was very young. Sam is very attached to the brooch, and wears it strapped under her robes, near her heart.

Aside from her robes/armor, Sam carries various mixtures, some of zebra make, to be used as poisons, healing aides, or to assist her in stealth. She may be fit, but she tries to avoid hoof to hoof combat, this she carries a silence-able pistol, and a semi automatic assault rifle, which can double as a silenced sniper with the correct attachments.
She likewise carries a razor combat knife, in the event she manages to get the drop on an opponent from stealth.
Cutie Mark: The word 'Huntress' intricately entwined by DNA strands (double helix forms)

It is not technically a cutie mark, but a tattoo that was given to her by the Grand Pegasus Enclave.
Being a clone, she lacks the natural magic that causes marks to manifest.
It was meant to identify her as a clone, and a huntress.
Personality: Samara is quiet, and reserved. She does not like the spotlight being on her, partially her reason for working in shadows most chances she gets. Her reasoning for this stems from multiple facts. She has problems trusting anybody, male or female, pony or otherwise. She rarely flies, despite it bringing her immense joy, partially because it requires her to reveal her wings.
Despite all this, given time where she can watch and observe individuals and their behavior, she may begin to trust and warm up to them, though she won't show it.
Samara rarely shows her enotions, and doesn't enjoy speaking. When she does speak, her voice is partially monotone, though it is noticeable it could be pleasant to listen to if she would give it inflection.
Backstory: Samara's being a Thestral - thus naturally being attracted to the dark - caused many disagreeables to target her. She was often ostracized by those in the settlement where she grew up, never having many friends. And those who acted friendly to her were merely doing it as a means to hurt her.

As she grew older, the attacks changed from schoolyard bullying type confrontations to far more serious matters, often brought about by her pleasant appearance. She learned to fight, but soon learned that melee confrontations without a small weapon were not her strong point, though she did possess the advantage of flight, which saved her many times.

Samara learned how to fight using firearms, both conventional and magical energy (though she preferred the conventianal, due to their option of sound suppression), from the Enclave. Her village had been exceptionally close to the cloud layer, thus being inhabited mainly by Pegasi.
Samara had broken the cloud cover, despite her mother's warnings. While at first she had been threatened by the isolationist Pegasi, she was eventually allowed in when they realized what she was.

Samara technically does not have physical parents. She was a lab baby. An experiment by the Enclave. The closest thing she had to parents were a mare and stallion Thestral descended from the few who had survive the apocalypse. The two were scientists for the Enclave, and some of the last remaining. When the two had learned they were infertile, they took cell samples of themselves, and grew a collective clone of their genetics: Samara. Her 'parents' were killed when they were discovered having created her, as it was without permission from the higher ups, and illegally used equipment. Her clone mother had managed to get her away from the Enclave, taking her to the village where she would grow up, passing Samara off to the Pegasus mare who raised her, briefly explaining how she should never be allowed above the clouds, before succumbing to her wounds.

When the Enclave realized Sam was the illegal experiment, they had nearly killed her. But decided instead to indoctrinate her to their ideals, which furthered her isolationistic behaviors. She had stayed with them for a few years, going by the name Venatrix, learning all she could about combat.

Samara does not technically have a real cutie mark, another reason for her being antagonized. Being tankborn, she lacked some of the natural magic that caused cutie marks to manifest. Instead, she was given one by the Enclave, a tattoo merely reading: 'Huntress', entwined by DNA strands.

It wasn't until the third year of her presence in the Enclave territory before Sam finally decided to return to her mother, despite her supervisor's commands. When she arrived, she found the Enclave had known about her insubordinate behavior, and were waiting for her at her old home. They explained her crime, offering to pardon her and let her mother go if she would allow the Enclave to turn her into a mindless puppet. When she disagreed, they slew her mother and chased her off, with intent to kill.

Samara had managed to shake her pursuers, even killing a few, before she set down in the true Wastelands. By this time she was 17. For the next three years, she further honed her skills with firearms, but never stayed in one place for long.
