Appearance: Orange fur with a fading, sandy mane and tail. He has large, round, blue eyes with crow's feet under both. His legs are long and his hooves are worn and chipped.

Cutie Mark: A bulb of red, molten glass, it represents his talent of glassblowing.

Personality: Sand Crystal is an odd character. He can draw in a crowd, yet time has made him a loner. He doesn't understand personal boundaries, but he never asks too many questions. He has a short fuse, but he's patient with other ponies, to a point of course. He is ready to help somepony out whenever he can, and he's always ready to take on the day, as long as he has his coffee.

Backstory: Sand Crystal grew up in the slums of Manehattan. His family would put food on the table by selling thrown away newspapers for half price. The last stop on their route was always a local glass shop, where they bought the rest of the papers. Sand always wondered what they did with them, so one day, he slipped out of the house to watch them work. He was amazed at what they did, and later worked for them. That's where he earned his cutie mark. He soon opened his own glass shop up town.<br /><br />Eventually, Sand Crystal met a mare named Jade. They instantly fell in love, and ended up getting married. Unfortunately, she passed away from an illness shortly after the birth of their only son, Red.<br /><br />Sand Crystal raised Red himself, teaching him everything he knows about glassblowing. As soon as Red was of age, he left the house and was never heard from since. Sand knows he's out there though, and wishes someday, he will find him.<br /><br />He hopes he will do this by his latest project, Equestria's only traveling glass shop. He now travels Equestria, amazing people by making incredible sculptures right in front of their eyes, and using only the tools he can carry on his back.
