Appearance: Saronyx is a Crystal Pony, with a very dark, navy-ish blue coat and a dark chestnut brown mane and tail, with a lighter brown streak down the right most side of each.<br />His eyes are silver color.<br />Saron's mane and tail aren't worn in the typical 'high class' fashion that most Crystals wear their own. Rather, his style more resembles that of a normal Earth pony stallion, though his tail's length is more relative to a Pegasi's.<br />Despite his more refined and dignified mannerisms and personality, he doesn't enjoy dressing formally, but will if necessary.

Cutie Mark: Something that resembles a dimensional rift, being 'drawn'* by a piece of charcoal.<br />It represents Saron's ability to look through dimensional rifts as one would a window. The charcoal and words represent his skill for writing.<br />(*When observed closely, it is actually a series of words written by the charcoal in a format resembling word art)

Personality: Saronyx is a grounded, and fairly logical individual in his actions, and he maintains a level head when dealing with others, should it be a serious situation.<br /><br />He is cheerful and friendly, despite this. Though under normal circumstances he will typically not be the one to initiate conversation or interaction. <br /><br />Saronyx is an author of books, mainly works of plain fiction, also including historical fictions and alternate future fictions.<br /><br />Most first impressions of him label him as distant and lost in thought, and on most occasions the latter is true. Saron possesses the ability to look through dimensional rifts as one would a window, and into alternate universes.<br /><br />It is from this where he predominantly gains his inspiration for the books that he writes. Saronyx's ability isn't really common knowledge, though there are individuals aware of this power. If he feels it will help somebody, or if he trusts somebody enough, he will tell them about it/demonstrate it.

Backstory: Saronyx and his twin sister Serenity are Crystal Pony siblings born in the Crystal Empire, who lived before its fall at the hooves of the corrupted Sombra.*<br /><br />At the time of Sombra's defeat, the twins were eighteen years of age. They were cast into the enchanted slumber, like the rest of their kind, when the Crystal Empire was lost, and remained in the state of suspended animation for the next millennium.<br /><br />Before the fall, Saron was an incredibly creative colt, and something of a visionary, always coming up with and explaining new ideas and concepts. He was very cheerful, and had adopted Sombra as something of a role model. He was only seven when Sombra's corruption occurred, and it shattered the young colt's resolve and image.<br /><br />Serenity shared his ability of peeking through rifts, but uses it less often.<br /><br />Like all Crystal Ponies, without the Crystal Heart, Saronyx fell into something of a deep depression, and as he grew up his original cheerful nature had turned into one of jaded cynicism, influenced greatly by his fallen hero, and his life of slavery.<br /><br />It was three years into the Oppression, at the age of ten, that Saronyx discovered his ability to look into alternate universes. He found that he could see into the past, present and future of many alternate universes and timelines. While these provided no physical route of escape, as he was unable to step through them, he was at least able to observe ponies in happier situations and times, and that gave him some cheer.<br /><br />At the age of fifteen, he found he could gaze into the past of his own universe, but not the future, or any other point in the present. He had changed from cynicism, for the most part, but he never regained his more youthful happiness. Instead, he became something more of a realist, which is rather ironic considering his ability.<br /><br />After the entire ordeal with the Empire's reawakening and Sombra's ultimate demise, Saronyx ventured forth, out of the Empire, to explore the rest of Equestria, the world still being rather unknown to him, and he was curious to see how far they had advanced since his native time. He was joined by Serenity, who he had rarely parted with throughout his life. Every so often however, she does venture off on her own.<br /><br />He took up writing eventually, drawing from his pool of natural creativity and from his gazing into other universes for his plots, premises and settings.
