Appearance: Shadow is quite tall, not as tall as Celestia as she is still young, but as tall as Twilight, and catching well up with Luna. Her coat is a sleek black, without mark, and maturely curved flanks. Her mane is either in braided ringlets, a rattail, or a ponytail, tied with a dark navy scrunchie. Her mane is amethyst with electric cobalt streaks running through it, making it quite unique. Her tail is wavy and ringlety, but not quite curled. She wears a silver necklace with a wolf's tooth embedded in it, and she's had it since she was a filly.

Cutie Mark: Her cutiemark is of a purple wolf howling to the moon, which is surrounded by shadows. The wolf signifies her strength, bravery, and boldness, while the shadows signify her dark, gloomy, shadowy past.

Personality: She is more often than not cold and distant towards others, usually opting to avoid them, rather than befriend them. She tends shy away in large crowds, and hates being the center of attention. She hates herself, and her unknown parents, her only friend being her beloved pet. She doesn't think anyone could possibly like her, and pushes everyone away to avoid the cold, harsh reality of rejection.

Backstory: At the age of possibly five, she found herself stranded alone in the darkness of Everfree forest. She has no idea who her parents are, or how she got there, but she was alone and vulnerable in the highly dangerous place. She suddenly heard a rustle next to her, in the bush. Taking off at a gallop, she sprinted through the trees, tripping and stumbling over objects, before being caught at a dead end. Curling up in a ball in a futile attempt to shield herself, she lay on the ground. What surprised her was what jumped out of the bushes was a wolf. The wolf was actually nice to her, seemingly taking her in as its "pup". It sheltered Shadow until she was old enough to find the exit to the Everfree Forest on her own. However she took Ariste, the wolf with her wherever she went, even in big cities.
