Personality: bright, witty, hates fights but will participate if necessary, likes to root for the underdog, TRIES to make friends (or at least allies), likes to sit alone in the woods and read or write

Backstory: Shimmer Quill was abandoned as a young filly when her orphanage ran out of money. She was left to fend for herself and had to learn street smarts fairly quickly. When she was old enough, the government paid for her to go to school and get an education. She was bright and witty, making friends on her first day. Shimmer was smart enough to know that something could be taken out of school, so she started telling stories in the town square to earn money. Shimmer Quill got so talented that word somehow made it to the princesses, and she was accepted into Celestia’s School for Gifted Unicorns. She remains there today studying storytelling magic.<br />
