Personality: A kindred spirit who has a scholarly aura to her, the worldly Silver Brush is pretty knowledgeable about lots of things, but she especially knows her art, literature, and politics. She's more than willing to share this knowledge with trusted individuals, but more often than not conceals secrets.<br /><br />She also pushes everyone to do better than they're doing now and that unfortunately has the tendency make ponies worse than they are now. Her worst trait is her tendency to demand effort(and sometimes even respect) from every pony around her. Her ability to stay calm softens it a bit, but not by much. <br /><br />Her demanding nature also extends to herself, much more than it does to others. It has made her quite the determinator, but there are always times when she pushes herself too hard and can no longer move, whether in a physical sense or a metaphorical sense.<br /><br />While Silver's kind and compassionate nature is genuine, she can become as cold as the steel of her dagger if she's pushed too far. <br /><br />Although very good at talking and socializing with others, Silver has some trouble with romantic love. It's quite a foreign thing to her and reading romance novels has done nothing to help.<br /><br />

Backstory: Born to a relatively poor family of architects, Silver Brush was the odd one out. Her sisters seemed to possess a natural talent in planning and building structures that Silver herself didn't have. Naturally, this lead her siblings(save for the fourth and youngest one) to ignore her at best and to insult her at worst. Not even their parents' punishments could assuage them.<br /><br />This lead Silver to try and do better, study harder, pay closer attention to detail, but for all of her efforts, they didn't reap her any sort of benefit. <br /><br />After many failures and very little success, Silver's little sister gave her another idea to prove her worth: instead of focusing on what her sisters want, focus on what she, Silver, wants. She was hesitant at first, then she reflected and found that she loved levitating writing instruments around and creating all sorts of words and images with them. When she learned how to properly write documents, that was when she earned her Cutie Mark.<br /><br />Silver's newly discovered talent lead her to travel to Canterlot and pursue a fairly higher education than the kind she got back in Ponyville. Although she and her parents raised just enough money to get her into a (by Canterlot standards) low-rate academy, it was enough to train her for her eventual job as a scribe. <br /><br />She now lends her skills to the citizens of Canterlot and, on extremely rare occasions, to the princesses themselves(but not without charging a price, of course). She uses her income to provide for her family back at Hollow Shades.<br />
