Appearance: Silver Lung is a pony who, at first glance, appears quite shabby, with an unkempt silver mane and tail. But his brilliant blue eyes tend to prevent comments about his appearance (though not always), filled with enthusiasm for his work. Although he tends to neglect his mane and tail's appearance, however, he pays a lot of attention to his purple coat.
Cutie Mark: Silver Lung's cutie mark is a crossed scalpel and forceps, which relates to his skill in general surgery.
Personality: Silver Lung is a rather calm pony, well suited to his craft. He is brilliant, but down to earth, and doesn't appreciate visionaries that don't have at least a bit of realism to their ideas. His collected personality have pulled him through more than one sticky situation, both in and out of the O.R.. However, he has a particular love of experimentation, and has been known to accept generous 'patients' directly into his private dwellings for him to perform research on and can get quite hyped up about learning something new for the good of his craft, whether it was discovered to the betterment or detriment of the pony involved.
Backstory: Silver Lung did not get his cutie mark at a young age, despite his best efforts. In fact, it took him a precariously long time before he discovered his talents, when he was forced to save one of his best friends during a rather severe brawl in an alleyway, forcing Silver Lung to use what knowledge he had to temporarily repair and reinflate his friend's left lung. After this particularly dramatic procedure, he decided to go to medical school and, after the standard 4 years, went to begin his residency period in the Canterlot Surgical Center.

Partways through his first year, he was hired by a rather shadowy figure to perform an operation in a rather ritzy mansion, treating someone who had taken a knife wound to the chest and belly. Despite his protestations that the area was hardly the ideal place for a surgery, he opened him up and, upon seeing the condition of his lungs, told his employer that he couldn't do the intense surgery required. His employer offered him double the promised pay if he succeeded. He carried on, and, although the patient almost died several times, Silver Lung was able to stabilize him in the end, much to his pleasure. But, in order for him to have saved his life, he had performed several risky procedures that might have cost him his medical license- something that his employer promised to keep under wraps for him, paying him the promised amount with a smile on his face and leading him out the door.

Over the next few years, he had been called upon by the same informer and a few others, his fame in the underworld growing higher and higher the more he was able to turn risks into successes, and, much to his surprise, he found himself more and more interested in these medical risks, as well as the vast amount of knowledge that came with it. He currently finds himself sitting in a comfortable home, working night shifts in the Canterlot Surgical Unit as a full resident, as well as a prime medical prodigy in the underworld, taking on extra jobs from various gangs and mafias to earn extra money and earn him several important contacts through various jobs.
