Appearance: Spade is a unicorn stallion with a blue coat and a black mane and tail. He wears a pair of oval-shaped glasses, along with a watch on his left foreleg. He is slightly taller than average, and is a little more fluff than buff.

Cutie Mark: Spade's Cutie Mark is a pair of playing cards, one featuring a six-sided die on it, the other being the two of hearts. It not only represents a talent for being able to learn any form of game and master it, but also a talent of analyzing the odds and working them in his favor.

Personality: Spade is more quiet than the average pony, preferring to observe the world around him. Most would view this as Spade holding himself aloof over everypony else. However, among close friends, he can be seen as the life of the party. Despite this, Spade is apprehensive of newcomers and it takes time for him to open up and be comfortable around a new pony.

Backstory: After realizing that education wasn't fit for him, Spade left Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns to wander Equestria to find where he'd fit in. Eventually, he found himself in Las Pegasus, and got a job working in one of the many casinos. There, he was able to use his talent for his own benefit. Unfortunately, a sore loser in a game of chance framed him for cheating, forcing Spade to flee for his life. Finally, Spade ended up in Ponyville, believing that he had found a small enough town to lay low. Settling into his new home, Spade felt that he was in a familiar territory, despite never entering the town prior. As time went by, Spade found himself growing more accustomed to his home (even after his first day in town, when that crazed pink pony saw him, gasped, ran off, and subsequently threw him a "Welcome to Ponyville" party). Yet he still found himself slowly becoming more happier than he had ever been. As he turned in for the night, he couldn't help but have a small grin on his face, wondering what in Equestria could happen tomorrow.
