By LordSwinton
Age: 16 (Graduating/graduated age)
Gender: Male
Species: Unicorn
Appearance: Pictured Above.

For extra accessories, a pear shaped sapphire pendant, a gift from his parents and an array of different scarfs and hats. He can stuff a corpse or two (or twenty) in his closet. He will never wear anything that clashes colours or styles, or anything too out of fashion. He feels comfortable in suits, having gotten over stiff collars while in boarding school, having to wear them everyday. He's a fan of bespoke tailoring, which screams 'posh'. Has reading glasses but never wears them due to his dislike of stuff on his nose in general. A jacket and scarf is always welcomed, he loves being warm
Cutie Mark: a star sapphire (but with 8 rays in the star), got it after choosing to follow his own path and trying to move on with his life after the divorce and trying to find the brighter side of life. The birthstone for September is sapphire and is said to cure diseases of the mind, mental illnesses, when worn by a September born.
Personality: Hipsterish- A sort of poetic soul but not too posh and snobbish (maybe a little). Likes art and poetry, philosophy, that kind of stuff though it blows his mind and he may not always be able to fully grasp the concepts. Calmly and gently spoken, usually. A thinker, a talker but not a chatterbox. Enjoys reading all types of books but prejudiced against more modern poetry, not a fan of slam.

Rather insecure on the inside when he's doing something that's not his thing and lacks motivation to do things and doesn't have the drive to start big things himself. In school, everypony was exceptionally good, the best of the best, so being just okay or good was never 'good' enough, they never taunted him about his 'shortcomings' but he could feel it. May need an occasional 'push' from others which makes him rather dependant on others for emotional support and constantly craves approval. High on self doubt, low on esteem at times since the separation and he has never really achieved the 'great' things he wants to do (find ancient ruins, fight pirates etc).

He doesn't like high stress situations and would rather run away from them than face his problems if given the chance. He may even be prone to breakdown when faced with seemingly hopeless situation. But if he finds the will and determination, he will try his very best without fail. He gets very defensive when his problems are brought up. He can be a bit childish at inappropriate times and may throw a tantrum. If he is unsure about something he'd rather not go through with it but still acts impulsively (or instinctively as he'd say)

Generally friendly to all he meets but rather reserved in terms of connecting with others personally. A bit shy around mares but not too awkward and will try to impress them somehow (usually with fancy words). Never had a special somepony. But he's a bit of a (hopeless) romantic as he has problems forming a proper dating relationship though he has no problem with commitment. Just haven't met that special somepony yet. Mares may see him more as 'cute' than dating material.

Bit of a traditionalist and may be wary of the new. Not too sceptical and is open to new ideas. Could come off as naive and even dumb to certain ponies due to his more innocent nature.
Backstory: Born to a well off family in Canterlot, he was an only child born to a poor stallion who found his fortune in gems, sapphires mainly, and a mare with a heart for the fine arts. He spent his childhood briefly juggled between Manehattan and Canterlot while his parents were establishing their careers as his father was based in Manehattan and his mother ran an art gallery and taught part time at a university in Canterlot. They were a big inspiration to all, both coming from different backgrounds. They still found time to be a family together, going to the theatre every week , to the park etc. Most of their time together was spent at a lovely house on a hill in Canterlot.

When he was old enough (about 12) he was sent to board at a posh boarding school full time (there are rumors as to how he got in as he is not especially gifted in anything but the truth was that he impressed his interviewer with his big ideas and strong ideals and general positivity), he had a nice time there, doing normal silly things of foals his age, suffering through homework etc. He scarcely saw his parents, because his parents were going through a rather messy and public divorce and battled for custody over him, they ended up having joint custody. He went on quietly with his studies by burying his muzzle in books and numerous extracurricular activities and events but the tragedy had shaken him badly and sent him down the spiral of despair, making him moody and push away his friends. He went through counseling at school and had good support especially from his roommate and dormmates which helped him get over it. As the end of his school days drew near, he still hadn't figured out what career he wanted to pursue, getting rather nervous as many had already had a clear vision of what they were passionate in, with their talent being more specific

After graduation, he chose to live on his own (still supported by his parents) and pursue a different type of knowledge, the meaning of life which he hopes to find through his journeys and adventures and the ponies he'll meet. When not roaming the world, he can be found in his home in Canterlot
