Appearance: <p> Starlight Shimmer has a long, flowing mane and is adept in many forms of magic. She is the star student of Princess Comet Shower. Her mane is pale lavender and purple, and her coat is white. </p>

Cutie Mark: <p> Her cutie mark is a black moon on her white coat, surrounded by 7 stars. It shows that she is a lover of the night and magic, and she is being trained to one day become a princess, the Princess of the Stars. </p>

Personality: <p> She is well-spoken and polite, and is always at Comet's side in formal parties and gatherings. She is sharply witted and is quick to defend her friends and family should they be insulted, whether she defends them by words or by magical means is something she often decides. She has a few faults, however, and one of them is that she becomes crazily anxious when she is worried about the results of a test, exam, quiz, or other assignment. Another is that she sometimes will become overly defensive when the value and merit of Princess Comet Shower's teachings are called into question. She will duel to the death to defend Comet's honor. She loves to study with Princess Twilight Sparkle.  </p>

Backstory: <p> Starlight Shimmer was born into a high-powered family in Manehattan, and she was raised like a queen. Her parents were careful to teach her excellent manners, and she was the envy and point of many a social gathering. At the age of 7, she started to train with Princess Comet Shower, and at age 10 she left home for a high tower private room in the Canterlot palace. She has studied with Comet ever since. She has magical power to rival the Alicorn Amulet. </p>
