Personality: Starshift is a bit of a dreamer. She enjoys a good fantasy, whether from a source such as a book or entirely from her own mind. She is prone to stage fright and generally does not like being in crowds. She is nice, but often does not actively seek new friends. Most of the friends she has came to her, rather than vice versa.

Backstory: Starshift actually had a quite normal, healthy childhood. She was an only child and fond of books, especially relating to space (fiction or otherwise). As she started to mature, this fascination with space also branched into a fascination with the possibility of alternate universes.<br /><br />One day, at the age of 15, this led her to attempt a powerful spell meant to allow her to travel through space (she was much more reckless back then). She failed miserably at the spell, with very frightening results, such as being temporarily unable to breathe and bright, powerful sparks barely missing her. The only permanent damage was some thankfully minor damage to the field she was in, but this was a lesson for her: Magic can be a potentially dangerous thing and should be approached with caution.<br /><br />Other than a lesson learned about magic, though, there was one more result from the spell. Her failed attempt at casting the spell somehow caught the attention of the Interdimensional Protection Agency (IPA). After that failed spell, a high-ranked member by the name of Emma was sent to talk to her, first transforming herself into a pony (her native form is an ancient spider dragon) to do so without raising suspicion. The first time that Emma spoke to her, she determined that the young pony has potential, but needs to grow up and become more mature before she is IPA member material.<br /><br />Eight years passed before Emma visited again. This time, she got a much better impression of the pony. Not only was she more mature, but one other promising thing was that she did not have many close friends and, while she had a job, it was not an immensely important job that would suffer significantly without her.<br /><br />Emma went back to IPA HQ to discuss the matter and the IPA decided to offer Starshift membership.<br /><br />Naturally, Starshift was ecstatic about the idea, as well as the confirmation itself that there were, in fact, other dimensions. After saying her goodbyes (stating she was going off on a fantastic journey, but not allowed to say where or to do what), she left with Emma to the IPA HQ.<br /><br />Starshift has now been in the IPA for about four years. She is currently a Larva Rank (trainee) still, but close to becoming a full member. She has been sent back home to complete a mission. If she completes the mission successfully, she will likely be promoted to Copper Rank.
