Cutie Mark: A galaxy. It represents his eagerness for exploration and his sense of belonging within the Orbital Fleet.

Personality: Very down-to-earth and realistic. He acknowledges the fact that he's just an average pony, and he knows his strengths and weaknesses.

Backstory: Stellar Flare was born on Earth to a poor family in 3972, over two thousand years after the mane 6 bore the Elements of Harmony. His mother worked two jobs to support his family, and his father was an ex-member of Luna's royal guard, as Celestia relinquished her throne to Luna after millenia of ruling.<br /><br />Stellar had a very normal childhood, although he still didn't have his cutie mark by the time he'd reached age sixteen. He decided to enlist in the military, even though he wasn't exactly physically fit. The military was desperate for new troops, however, and passed him despite his low scores on his exams. They assigned him to the Orbital Fleet, which was Equestria's space force. At the time, faster-than-light travel was only seven years old, and the Orbital Fleet was given the task of exploring the rest of the universe. At age twenty three, Stellar Flare's ship, the E.S. Odyssey, was sent on a mission to an unexplored sector of space for reconnaissance. This mission would turn out to be ill-fated, however, and in the events that transpired, Stellar Flare was declared a hero for his extraodinary service.<br /><br />(There is a fanfic in the works which tells the story of this mission. No spoilers will be given away here!)
