Cutie Mark: Tear Gas's Cutie Mark is, fittingly enough, a tear gas grenade. It represents his role as a Riot Officer, and his skill with the equipment involved with that job.

Personality: Tear Gas is a fatherly-figure to his friends. He tries to be the voice of reason at all times. He needs to be impartial, as that's a huge part of being law enforcement in any position. <br /><br />He has a gentle voice when speaking normally, but when angered his voice is gruff and harsh sounding, entirely stern.<br /><br />He is the serious type, he understands joke, but he doesn't tell them and doesn't take them very well. He prefers things to be simple and straight forward, other wise he feels like he is wasting his time.<br /><br />He is very protective, and will do anything to protect those he feels are innocent, going as far as to disobey orders if he feels that what is happening is unjust. He has a very strong sense of responsibility and feels that if somepony gets hurt, there is always something he could have done to prevent it.<br /><br />He will go out of his way to make others feel safe and secure, and will go as far as to get violent with individuals he suspects are involved in crime or just generally harming other innocent ponies.<br /><br />He has a leader-type personality and does not fair very well at following orders. He is more the type to command others.

Backstory: Tear Gas was born to his father, Sharp Halberd, and his mother, Pure Bliss. He was born in Fillydelphia, where he was raised. In school, he was bullied all the time, and he knew deep inside that it wasn't right.<br /><br />One day, while he was at the playground at school, a group of twelve other colts ganged up on and attacked him. He beat them down skillfully, levitating a trash can lid in front of him to deflect their blows, that's when he discovered that he had talent taking on crowds.<br />He gained his cutie mark at this moment. <br /><br />Once he had passed basic school, he immediately enlisted in an academy for training law enforcement. There he trained incredibly hard to hone his skills. He had some problems with discipline due to his reluctance to obey orders. However, his instructors noticed his combat potential. Upon graduation they appointed him as a riot officer. <br /><br />After many years of being on the force, he finally became the captain of his own squad. He is a rather skilled leader, and has successfully dispersed several riots.<br /><br />He works travelling Equestria, being deployed when needed.
