Appearance: The Litany, while sapient in its own way, tends to take the form of a grand book or scroll - Adorned with precious stones or metals woven into its fabric pages. It supposedly looks ever to slightly different to whomever views it, changing minor details of its appreance to seem more appealing to the observer.

The words writtin in / on the litany are written in a language long forgotten: trying to read them however, will result in the readers mind accepting the nonsense words as real, understanding them even without being capable of making out what they are supposed to say.

As the words are read, they shine with a fiery light before fading away: each word can only be read a single time and grand its power to a single being.
Personality: The litany holds not only power, but knowledge. The collective knowledge of the past. So long as the one who has read the litany knows which questions to ask, it is capable of answering.

This knowledge, however, is drawn directly from the experiences of the dead who act as a collective intelligence. The more who have taken a specific piece of information to the grave - the more effectively it will be able to answer. This has two implications:

1. It is unable to provide insight into recent events or the future.

2. The collective intelligence forms its own sentience inside the reader, which grows stronger the more it is called upon.
Backstory: Once crafted by unknown hooves to preserve knowlege and power, these were once plentiful. As the years passed, some were read, some were lost and others destroyed.

Since the Litany only grows more powerful with age, this is the last, and by far most powerful source of magical information and power to supposedly exist.
