Tonitrus

Appearance: He is rather skinny but has decent sized muscles and very tall for his age at at 6'1". He has deep blue eyes, with his hair being a light blond and sticks out in random directions like your typical Final Fantasy style male. He wears a red t-shirt with a dark blue leather vest right on top of it. He wears black pants, with a belt that has a large shiny oval silver buckle, with two gold lightning bolts on either side, pointing inward.

Personality: He is very headstrong, hotheaded, a bit temperamental, and quick to react in almost any situation... unfortunately he doesn't like to think before he does anything, so just about every one of his quick reactions tends to be a very stupid idea. He does have great care for his family and friends, and would do anything to protect them, likely even die. One of his weaknesses is that he is afraid of water... absolutely terrified of the stuff, he wouldn't even drink it if he could avoid it.

Backstory: When Tonitrus was a young lad, he was a troublesome little tike, and was often disciplined for his bad behavior. He was mostly a grand thief, and was many a times caught stealing, but a great deal more times he got away. He was the fastest kid in town, and ran around like a lightning bolt in the small town of Cirrus, which is why he was mostly never caught.<br /><br />One day, at the age of 7, he was running just a bit too fast, and slipped on a small bit of water nearby a pool. He fell in, and to his dismay, he had just stolen a large bag of coins strapped to his belt. He sunk like lead, and nearly drowned until his Uncle Fulgur came along and pulled him out. From that point on Tonitrus had a fear of every drop of water, and kept at least a 150 foot distance between anything wet and larger than a 12oz glass.<br /><br />After his uncle rescued him, he took him home and dried him off. He scolded Tonitrus for stealing the coins, and took them away from him, but his uncle had a very large heart. Rather than punishing him, he let him go and told him not to do it again, while giving Tonitrus a small key. The key was made entirely of Sapphire, and was a brilliant shade of purple. From that point on Tonitrus Cherished the key, and vowed to stop stealing out of respect for his Uncle.<br /><br />Many years later, He grew up to be a fine young man, still faster than anyone else around, but no longer a thief. He became loyal to the entire town, and was planning on becoming a knight to help protect the town from any danger that may arise.<br /><br />His plans were cut short, however, when a large sphere of darkness appeared over his small town, and dark creatures invaded his small town. He had nothing to defend the town with, as he had not yet received permission to wield a sword, so he ran out and began attacking with his fists. Nothing happen, He would punch, and they would not even flinch, not move a muscle, he could not even feel them... It felt as though his hands would just disappear into darkness. Evenutally a large swarm of them surrounded him, and he just lost all sense of reality as they piled on top of him. All he could think about was his Uncle Fulgur, the man who taught him how to respect people, and how to be a man. He reached for the sapphire key his uncle gave him, which he wore around his neck. As soon as he had a firm grip on it, the darkness suddenly vanished. A brilliant white light emerged from the key, and suddenly in his hand was a large sapphire blade in the shape of a key, with his Uncles key attached on a chain at the end of the handle. He stared at it for a moment, then spotted one of the dark creatures returning after having been blown away. Without thinking, he swung at the creature, and as soon at the key made contact, the creature disappeared in a black cloud of smoke. He took out many more of these creatures, then went straight to his family home, where his mother, father, his uncle and his little brother were all waiting defenselessly in the attack.<br /><br />As soon Tonitrus got back to his home, he rushed in only to find that the dark creatures has invaded, and his family was nowhere to be seen. They must have escaped, but for Tonitrus, it was too late. The roof of the house suddenly tore from the rest of the building, and the large black sphere began to engulf everything in site. Tonitrus ran outside, and grabbed onto a tree as he felt the darkness pulling him in, but the tree quickly gave way and he was sucked into the darkness.<br /><br />He woke up in a strange place, who knows how long he had been unconscious. He was along in a grassy field, with one large tree atop a hill in the distance with the silhouette of a man underneath. He hastily arose and ran towards this man, hoping at least to find an answer to his many questions. The mans name was Jiro Arai, and he claimed to be a "Keyblade Master" and asked for Tonitrus to reveal his blade. At this point, Tonitrus was completed dumbfounded and confused, but apparently the weapon that mysteriously appeared before him was a "Keyblade". Tonitrus asked him quite curtly, "And how do you expect I do that? Just stick my hand out and yell 'Come here, Keyblade!' and-" To Tonitrus' surprise this was all that was necessary, and as he did these actions the key appeared in his hand. The Keyblade Master offered to Train Tonitrus and he would much rather have refused, but what choice did he have? Either reluctantly take his offer, or wander around this empty field for who knows how long. Tonitrus accepted and the two boarded a strange vessel to take them to wherever the master's stronghold was located.
