Personality: Vinyl is a boisterous, confident pony with a love for making and mixing electronic music. She is often the center of any party scene, mixing music on her turntables. She goes by the stage name, DJ Pon-3, when not at home.<br />She is rarely seen without her "shades" as she calls them.

Backstory: She was born in the bustling city of Manehattan. During her fillyhood she moved to Ponyville. Being new in town, she was worried no one would like her, but a small grey filly gave her a chance to be herself. With the newfound confidence Octavia gave her, she soon befriended many different ponies, but her best friend remained Octavia.<br />The sunglasses she wears were given to her parents when she began her career as a DJ, and she has kept them ever since.<br />She earned her cutie mark once when she was using her turntables, just messing around with them. She discovered that she could make new songs out of existing ones that sounded better than the original. Her cutie mark appeared sometime in the interval wherein she made her first remix.<br />Her parents moved back to Manehattan when she was about twenty, but she stayed and began rooming with Octavia, with whom, despite differences, she had remained fast friends.
