Yuki
By StarStruck
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Species: Non-Pony
Personality: Quite and clam when you first meet her, Yuki always shows little to no emotion. She is reserved and always calculating her next move to best benefit herself and her team. This tends to unwind if given a certain type of sweet. If given her most desired treat, she turns into a brash loud mouth who acts before she thinks.
Backstory: Being the daughter of a gym leader is hard. Being the daughter of an Elite Four is even harder. Born in the Kanto region, Yuki was a horrible student in school and so her father decided to take her on as an apprentice until she was able to receive her first Pokemon. She was hard headed and would easily forget her Pokemon's moves in the middle of a battle causing her fathers Pokemon to hate to battle with her.

This all changed when she turned ten. Her father had been about to give up on training her but she insisted that once she had her own Pokemon she would be able to take care of it. Her father gave her the benefit of doubt and allowed her to go to the professor. It wasn't ten minutes later that there was a lot of screaming outside and his daughter was being chased around by an Eevee the size of a house cat. Her father tossed her one of his Pokemon and a pokeball hoping that she would figure out what to do with it. Surprisingly enough, the red-headed girl was able to have a decent battle for once and she was able to successfully catch the rampaging Pokemon.

The pair at first wanted nothing to do with each other but her father knew that all they needed was a little push. So that's what he did. He pushed them out onto the street and said don't come back until you've made friends with each other. The two walked around for hours doing nothing, not even trying to bond. When they went back to their house her father wouldn't let them in saying that they still were not partners.

In the girl's stubbornness, she huffed and stomped away with out a second glance into the woods followed shortly by the Eevee. Yuki was furious that her dad had made her stay outside after dark even though he knew she was afraid of nighttime Pokemon but she didn't want to show her weakness in front of her new Pokemon, so they set up a camp in the woods just outside her house.

As night set in, Yuki became more and more anxious, jumping at the quietest sound, thinking it was a Houndoom from the gates of hell coming to eat her up. The male Eevee looked at it's new trainer with slight interest and worry before going over and sitting down with her trying to cheer the poor girl up so that she wouldn't cry. Seeing what the Eevee had done for her, she let him sit on her lap and they cuddled against the tree until they both fell asleep.

Later in the middle of the night, the two woke up to be surrounded by almost half a dozen Haunters. Yuki seized up at ht sight of the things that gave her nightmares. She sat there shaking, paralyzed with fright. The Eevee, noticing how scared she was, immediatly growled at the Haunter to leave the two of them alone. The Haunters guaffed and giggled at the Eevee for thinking it had any power over them. They began using different ghost moves trying to scare the pair away but nothing seemed to work on the normal type Pokemon. But although it didn't effect him, Yuki was being tormented by the images that the Haunter were sending her and she began to cry loudly. Eevee sensing his trainers distress, immediately began to attack the Haunter in any way he could, using Shadow Ball and Bite to get the group away. Slowly but surly the group left them alone after being hit a couple of times by a powerful attack. Then, Eevee began to glow a bright white, causing Yuki to look up as her Pokemon evolved. A few seconds later and an Umbreon stood where Eevee stood moments before. Yuki smiled and hugged the creature before thanking him and giving him his nick name, Knight, because he protected her when she couldn't protect herself.

The two became fast friends and they soon set off on their own Pokemon adventure. Her father was so proud he even gave her an egg to help her continue her journey. The tag team quickly went through towns not really stopping at gyms since Yuki still was not the best battler. They made it all the way to Saffron City, hearing about a rise in popularity of a gang called Team Rocket and had even been asked to join them. Having wanting nothing to do with the gang, Yuki turned them down before trying to tell the police about it. But the events that would occur in Saffron City would change and harden Yuki's heart until she was nothing like her old self.

It had been a day like any other. Yuki and Knight had wanted to go and take a tour of the Sliph. Co. building and they had casually walked in and began snooping around. They found more then they had bargined for. They were dropped right into the middle of a large battle between the police and Team Rocket and Yuki, foolishly, wanted to help resolve the case. She began to battle, Knight by her side the entire way. Until the doors to the elevator opened, revealing the head of Team Rocket, Giovanni, himself, along with his pet Persian. The cat like Pokemon pounced on the first Pokemon it could find, pinning it to the floor with its large paws, it's teeth at the throat. The first Pokemon was Knight.

It took Yuki less then a second to realize what was going on before she began to plead that he let Knight go and to not harm him. Giovanni only smirked coldly before saying that if she surrendered all of her Pokemon then he wouldn't harm her Umbreon. She then said that Knight was her only Pokemon and that she would never give him to a cruel heartless.... (I can't repeat the last word use your imagination). Giovanni's smirk grew into a full out grin before he raised his hand and said 'Then it is of no use to me' and snapped his fingers. The Persain took this sign and immediately tore out Knight throat leaving the whole room shocked as Yuki raced to her Pokemon's side. Shoving the large cat off the dying Pokemon, Yuki tried to stop the bleeding but there was nothing she could do. Knight the Umbreon died, slowly, in his trainers arms.

Yuki was devastated over the death. She was in shock at the Pokemon Center for over three days before they gained any sign that she was even functional enough to move. But on the third day, the egg her father had given her hatched into a small Charmander no higher then a lvl 2. It's tail was short and stubby the flame barely there causing worry from the staff. They tried to put the Charmander into an incubator but before they could so much as touch the small thing, Yuki, who had been almost comatose, jumped up grabbed her bag and the small Pokemon before jumping out the window. She fell two stories protecting the Charmander with her body. She got up and ran ignoring the pain in her left foot. She ran, and ran, running all the way down to Vermilion City without stopping or resting being sure to dodge wild Pokemon and trainers alike. She purchased a ticket for the S.S. Anne and they shipped out that morning heading strait for Unova. She sent a letter to her father saying where she was going and that she was sorry for the short notice. She quickly settled into life on board the two week long cruise.

She had her ankle checked out by an on-board doctor and he said that she had all but shattered her foot. She would have to wear a cast, that even then it might not heal right, and that she would probably walk with a slight limp at times. She accepted this as her last foolish thing she would ever do. Her mind set changed to that of what her father had wanted her to become.

She trained her baby Charmander fighting all of the non-water Pokemon on board. Yuki cared for the Charmander like it was her own baby worrying and coddling over the small fire lizard. The small Charmander was all for it loving the attention she was getting. Yuki had decided to call her Blaze for the large inferno she let loose one night when Yuki wouldn't give her her favorite berry. Blaze became very attatched to her trainer and the two bonded, just as she and Knight had done. She never spoke of why she looked so haunted or why there were large bags under her eyes every morning. She could not bring herself to think of the Pokemon she loved more then anything.

Together Yuki and Blaze worked hard training for two week until they arrived on Unova soil. Yuki hardened herself and her heart so that she could become braver and stronger in memory of Knight. She was and will always an Elite Fours daughter.

She and Blaze grew quickly heading from city to towns, gathering badges and staying as far away as she could from the 'criminal' gang called Team Plasma. Blaze grew stronger and even after she had fully evolved, her tail flame grew to be overly large. Blaze could easily carry two or three people on her back and she was an extremely large Charizard compared to the average. Yuki, too, had grown. Though not as positivly as her team would have hoped. She became quiet reluctant and quiet only outbursting when she had her favorite treat or when someone called her a tomato because of her red hair. She's very sensitive about it and she hates being called a tomato. Though her travels through Unova, she began to build a strong and loyal team to help her became greater then her father's name. She was almost going to become champion until Team Plasma was 'disbanded' and the champion gone to who knows where.
