Your opinion about a remake of the story about the crystal empire and sombra ?

The whole story about the crystal empire, how sombra tried to take over it (especially sombra's backstory, his power of darkness, hate and fear, and his MOTIVATIONS to enslave a whole kingdom.), it's banishment to get frozen for thousonds of years, and the returning is so brilliant much thrilling but also dark and gritty. So we got good stuff for a blockbuster. What would you say about a blockbuster movie or a fanmade series in the style of the mlp show about that story? Maybe it would be more darker and more thrilling than the original? Maybe it would be more funny than the original?
