If the show's characters were just normal rigs

I love how the show's characters are not just rigs, but actually look as if they're traditionally animated. That makes me wonder how the show would've looked if the characters were just done with plain ordinary rigs. I really don't think the style would've made nearly as much of an impact as what we actually have.
